What's new

Jimmers athletic testing.

I really hope we pass on Jimmer in favor of a guy like Chris Singleton, Motiejunas, Marshon Brooks or Alec Burks. If all four of those guys are gone, then I supposed I'd be okay with Jimmer. But just okay!

I agree with the guys in bold.

I think Jimmer has a lot of potential by focusing on his PG skills. He had to do everything in college and I could see him focusing on just being a point guard and having a lot of potential to improve at that position. TNT announcers compared him to Steve Nash. Nash came out of college as a scoring guard and focused on developing his point guard skills. He also benched 185 14 times, that's as many as Favors.

I'm all for jimmer at 12. I don't think harris is our point guard of the future
Jimmer's going to be our point guard of the future because his shot selection will drastically improve, his defense will be transformed and he'll become a distributor. After all, he's clearly one of the best and most versatile athletes to come into the NBA in years. The belief from those who've slurped the Jimmer Jello is truly breathtaking.

I couldn't tell you if the draft couldn't come soon enough (so we can stop this asinine discussion), or if it's infinitely far away (in the fear that Jo Bro gets drafted and the asinine discussion never ends).

I just want assurance that there will be a forum for Jimmer threads if he ends up going to the Jazz,

I can't wait for him to be on another team. Half the reason I don't want the Jazz to draft him is I don't think I could read anymore fluff and BS from the homer's to prevent my gag reflex from ruining my keyboard. At least if he's somewhere else I won't have to hear about him 24/7. Can you imagine the whinning on here if the Jazz draft him and he never plays?

LMAO. By the sounds of some they do more than slurp his Jell-O!

Did someone really try and argue that the MWC is better than the SEC - in any sport on the planet? Wow. A few good teams do not make a strong conference folks. The zealots are outdoing themselves.

As for Jimmer's shooting, you can keep bashing me but the numbers don't lie. Compare his shooting percentage in college to Ray Allen and Kyle Korver. Over 4 years it is no contest. His range is insane but his percentage leaves a lot to be desired IF drafting someone because of his shooting ability. If you draft at his percentages it should be because of his all around game. Granted, his shot selection this year was at times horrific which contributes to the average %. Somehow that does not make me feel better about drafting him.

Seriously, if you believe that Jimmer is a poor to average shooter you just not worth arguing with. He was double or triple teamed on every shot he put up inside of 30 feet, and he STILL shot a very good percentage. As for the Mountain West being a good conference, they were the 4th ranked conference in RPI, that would be 2 ahead of the SEC. We all know how you SEC guys love them computer numbers.

The big question is can Jimmer get to the bucket in the pros like he could in college. If he can, there is no reason to believe that he will be a far inferior prospect to Knight. I suspect that anybody that has him in for workouts will test this part of his game. Maybe all he needs is to add the Tony Parker "drive to the basket and flop." Jimmer rarely misses a free throw.

People that act like Knight is far better than Jimmer are as annoying as Jimmer boosters. Knight has the potential to be better in the NBA, but right now Jimmer is the superior player. You are gambling on upside with a point guard. That is something the T-Wolves do. If you are going to gamble on upside, go with a big.

You're looking at the numbers while ignoring the degree of difficulty. That's like comparing Dwight Howard to Steve Nash and concluding that Howard is the better shooter due to his percentage.

I think Leonard is about as good as Brewer. Probably what he'll look like in the pros, too. A solid pick at 15ish. But in this draft he's a definite 8 - 12 guy.

Brewer played in the SEC. Leonard played in the MWC. That alone means Leonard should be drafted at least 5 spots below Brewer using your reasoning, correct? Brewer was drafted 14.

I believe there should be no complaint about taking Jimmer with the 12th but 3rd would be way too early. 12th would be a steal. If we pick up night or walker than I say no no jimmer.
