Joel Embiid Will be #1, If Jazz get #1

Mistake? Who would you have had the draft? Kwahi? Thomposon? That's all the Jazz missed on, and those guys aren't worthy of the #3 pick. Just a terrible draft.

Klay Thompson will be an all star a few times everntually. He would of easiiy been worthy of the number 3 pick

Ya and tony parker is worthy of a top 3 pick instead of 20 something.

No one had klay going top 3 in that draft.
Jazz didnt make a mistake by taking kanter third..... its what most every team would have done

Sure it wasn't a mistake, but if you take Embiid then Kanter is automatically gone.

Jazz drafted Kanter for his potential, knowing that his first 3 years in Nba would have been as an apprenticeship.

It would be a mistake if they decide to draft Embiid and dump on Enes. So if Parker and Wiggins are available the Jazz have to draft one of them.

If the Jazz didn't consider Kanter or Favors centers, then they had to draft Jonas Valanciunas.

Every other team but the Cavs and their dartboard. . .

Kanter has nothing to do with the decision to draft Emblid if Emblid is far and away the best prospect. You draft the best player available period and worry about the consequences later (which may be swapping him for the 3rd pick and a little somthin', somethin') If Emblid and Parker are equally rated on the draft board, you still draft Emblid because what he has is more rare. Only draft Wiggins or Parker over Emblid if you are sure that they are better because he will buy you almost your choice of SF not limited to the draft if he is rated the #1 pick.

Nah you don't do that any longer. You see that in Cleveland and Houston. Other GMs have learned to play the lowball card if they know how hard a player's contract lies on the books. Even Harden fits that picture.
Btw his full name is Joel Hans Embiid. With 2 i's.

Other than Luis Scola, who was probably the best low post scorer in Europe before his Nba career, all of the other players on your list are Solid nba players because of their heart, ethic and defense. Splitter was a lethal low post scorer in his TAU days but wow!! This was like 6 years ago. Antiç being more offense oriented but still fits in the model.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of Tomiç. Remember 7"1 Stanko Barac. Same story... Great offensive skills. Polished game. Absolute zero defensive awareness and attitude.

What is so rare about Embiid? He could be an interesting prospect but I think you are hyping him up too much.

In my opinion this is not the right approach in the draft, especially for the current Jazz team. Select the best player just taking into account that he could be a useful future trade asset, it is only business.

The Jazz need to draft the right player for their system, the player that will help them to leap to the next level.

If they have decided to invest in Kanter, Embiid is not indispensable for this team, particularly if Wiggins or Parker are availables.

I agree with you but anyway if Tomic had the ambition to play in Nba he would have his space.

Woah now. If it is me, I take Wiggins or Parker as of now. We were running on the assumption that Joel E. (that's how I'm referring to him from now on) was the clear #1 pick. That is a pretty big accomplishment in this draft. That's a special player. Always go BPA in the first 5 picks, ALWAYS! You may not even want to keep Joel E., but his relative worth would be enormous. Remember Atlanta, "We don't need no stinkin' point guards! Let Deron Williams and Chris Paul be somebody else's problem!" Remember the idiots in Portland, "Bah! we don't need a point guard! Let's trade that pick for Martell Webster!" Grab the player, hold him, love him (or at least make everyone else THINK you do), THEN see what you can get for him if you absolutely need to. We are green enough we could hold onto all of our centers until someone called US with a deal we couldn't refuse.
