I have been watching a lot of Tyler Ennis games and have decided that Tyler Ennis is the man we need to draft. It looks like We will be drafting 6th 7th or 8th and I think there is a reasonable chance he is available at that spot. Here's who I think will go ahead of him:

1-Embiid
2-Wiggins
3-Exum
4- Parker
5- Randle
6- Vonleh.


Can't see anyone else going ahead of him. It is early and I can understand it if you are incredulous regarding who I have ranked over/under Ennis. Whenever I watch him, I just see something special. there is something subtle special about his game. I like Trey and all but there are some red flags that worry me.

Trey never shoots free throws
Trey hasn't been getting to the rim at all
Trey seemed super super worn down before the all star break. Can that tiny body of his handle the NBA?

I agree with Trey's red flags, but if you think Trey is too small, Tyler is smaller (only 1" taller, but weighs 10 lbs less, and has a smaller wingspan).


Tyler Ennis is a good PG, but... I'd rather just take Mcdermott or Rodney Hood if we're drafting at that blah spot.


and what about Marcus Smart? I know he's in the dog house now, but come draft day do you really think GM's would let him slip too far?
 
No way Jazz will pick another PG with their highest pick.
Way better options with their lottery pick this year.

Exactly, and with nearly every team set at point guard, he might even be there for the GS pick.
 
If you're going to just toss Trey Burke aside like a used rubber, why would you go out of your way to draft what looks to be essentially the same player (if not worse)?

I don't think he'll drop any lower than 15. He will be the best true PG in this draft, and if he leads his team to a final four run, his stock could go up. Regardless, someone in the teens will see him as BPA and take him.
 
If we took Giannis in last year's draft, then yeah, Tyler Ennis would be a good choice for a pick in the 10 - 12 range.

Not to come off as an overbearing Burke fan, but do you watch the games? When is it in the offense that Burke's is suppose to drive and/or get fouled. Hayward and Burks basically are always in the game with Trey and Corbin only allows Trey to bring the ball across the time line. Then he's forced to dribble the ball a step behind the 3pt line and pass it to Hayward or Burks on the wing.

Almost every rookie hits the rookie wall. It appears Burke has bounced back already.

To me Ennis is a slight downgrade from Burke. As great as Chris Paul is if he was just turned into a spot up shooter he wouldn't be very much more effective than Burke is right now and it'll be the same if you get rid of Burke and replace him with Ennis in Corbin's system.
