Jon Diebler - "best shooter ever in the DraftExpress database"

Definitely a great shooter. Ended this season better than 50% from behind the arc on 227 attempts.

From the looks of that list, it appears like a list of players who can't play in the NBA and don't recognize most names. (sad to say, two USU Aggies are on the list) Also, there are two players on that list that i recognize: Kyrie Irviing and Derrik Williams. Hmmmm.....

I'd definitely invite him. He shot 40 and 42% from three his previous two years at OSU, and had about 2.5 rebounds and assists each this year which is surely nothing to write home about but not bad considering he was pretty much the 4th or 5th option on the team. My point is, he has some other skills as well, and decent athleticism.

The thing that makes Korver as good as he is (beyond his shooting) is he really does have a really high basketball IQ. Don't know if Diebler has it or not. Either way I dont think it matters because he is going to get drafted in the 2nd Round and the Jazz have no pick therebouts.

Can someone tell me the history of why the Jazz don't have a 2nd rounder this year? I was surprised to see they don't have it.

They had to give the Bulls SOMETHING in order for them to agree to the Boozer sign-and-trade (that eventually got the Jazz Al Jefferson).

Went to one Ohio State game last year and Diebler shot 10-12 on three-pointers. Was 10-11 at one point and you were shocked when he finally missed. Throughout his entire career he was as accurate a collegiate shooter as I've ever seen. Smart player, great kid and good teammate.

Unfortunately he's completely 1-dimensional. Korver is a full inch taller, had a wingspan over 3 inches longer and was a fairly decent scorer at Creighton where he also had a nice little turnaround jumper in the post. Although Korver was a poor individual defender, he's a good team defender whereas with I'm not sure Diebler is. Camp invite at best. The OSU guard I like alot more is David Lighty, but don't want to get too far off topic.

In the combine Diebler struggled to finish against the coaches at the rim. He also made Jimmer look really quick defensively. I just don't seem him as a NBA player.
