[Jones]BREAKING: Jazz willing to engage Celtics in S&T talks: But Gordon Hayward must agree

What do the Jazz get out of it exactly? Except for satisfying our vindictiveness?

Battlespace preparation. Having sports people spend the news cycle explaining that Haywood left a high functioning small market team, is a better narrative than Utah is a farm team.

But they can get rid of Bradley first to get out of a jam here with signing Hayward, then during the season trade Crowder for something else more valuable.

who has space and need for Bradley right now? And what are the chances that they can/want to pay him $20 Million dollars a year after this next season?

EDIT: is there anybody in the East who will even pick up the phone and help Ainge with this right now?

Boston twitter going at DjJazyJoddy and Tony Jones hard lmfao. They sound bitter over the possible s&t. I hope it happens just for that.

The Celtics have Hayward, Brown, and Tatum at SF. Crowder's kind of become the odd-man out, unless they want him playing the 4 and guarding opposing PF's full time.

Again, Crowder is by far the best talent/prospect compared to Bradley & Smart. If I'm Ainge, I trade away Bradley first to get Hayward signed, then trade Crowder at the deadline for other assets.

I'm sorry to poop in everyone's soup, but I don't see why Boston would give up one of the best 3&D guys in the NBA, on one of the best contracts, out of the goodness of their hearts.

Not happening. No way. Nope.

I'd be happy if they accepted our first round pick to let go of Crowder. 2 second rounders? I'd soil my pants, both ways.

I'm talking about S&T with Utah, why would Ainge give us Crowder over Bradley or Smart?

The other takeaway I have from this thread is "DO the Jazz keep a used pair of shoes from every player ever to play for them? Seems kind of weird that they had a pair from Jae's father just hanging around. . ."

LOL ... could have done without the imagery of that last sentence tbh.

Ainge needs to clear space. He may not have as large a dumping ground as he wanted. And maybe he doesn't want to gut the bench entirely. The jazz have some leverage here; and DL seems to be adding a bit more to said leverage.

There are 3 candidates, why do you guys think BOS will be giving away Crowder?

Bradley is the ideal candidate for the trade from BOS POV with only 1 year left on his contract, no?

It's going to be very difficult to clear cap room next season. Crowder gives Utah a cheap, but quality player at the 3, plus a $20m TPE. That TPE could prove valuable at the deadline or next summer. There are always teams looking to clear salaries or go in a different direction. Might be able to pick up a PF.

Jazz agree to not pursue tampering charges against Boston. Hayward and his agent save face.
