No, of course not. I believe in civility. But PC slaves aren't civil, but rather finger point and derail the discussion and posture holier than thou. That's not "kind and considerate." That's self-serving.

Shrug I think we're just fighting to fight. I never intended to start anything. People saw the word "rape" not understanding its use as a metaphor (or maybe they don't know what a metaphor is) and the discussion got derailed so people could profess their anti-rape stance. As if anyone was promoting rape in the first place.

You are derailing the conversation. Just stfu already. We want to read about the Jazz but you keep going off on your pro dickhead tangent.

Crowder is a good player, but the TPE is the real prize. Utah gets $23m they can use without having to give a player back. That may be pretty valuable at the deadline or next summer. It was certainly instrumental to have cap space to trade for Rubio.

Next year, it may be difficult to open up significant cap space, especially if Alec can't be dumped. The TPE could net us a very good asset from a team wanting to hit the reset button.

This.

I would rather keep any future picks than giving up the pick for Crowder, whom I'm not sure personality wise fits with the Jazz culture. Without Hayward we could be heading for another year in the lottery (a quick stop I hope) and that pick could really come in handy as we 'reload' behind Gobert, Hood, Mitchell, etc.

If I were DL, I would just try and get the TPE and be done with it.

I'd be very hesitant to trade a 1st unless it is heavily protected. From my understanding, this is something Hayward is pushing for...although I could be mistaken. Also, (again I'm not positive) from what I heard, there are minor financial advantages for BOS (not sure exactly how) to including Crowder in a S&T rather than moving him in a separate deal. Here's hoping we catch a break...

I disagree that replacing Hill with Rubio and Hayward with Crowder makes us a lottery team. It depends on a lot of variables, but the team is still very talented with an excellent coaching staff and culture.

You can't really include Hayward in the picture. This would basically be a #1 pick for Crowder. Which first round pick and the protections would be what make this a good deal or not. I think a 2018 or 2019 first with at least lottery protection is well worth Jae Crowder for 3 years at 7 million per year.
This.
I would do the trade.

As long as the Jazz protect any draft picks, then I think DL will give appropriate price to the Celtics. There's very little chance of them acquiring an adequate replacent for Hayward without giving more than what this will likely cost. Especially with the trade exception - that holds just as much value (if not more) as getting Crowder does. Have a feeling though that Crowder outperforms whatever price the Jazz pay to get him (especially on that contract.)
Yep

Ya, I kinda thought that when I read it.
We will have to give up a pick for crowder and the tpe. And we should do it.

I don't know there was some dude in town for SL on 1280 today. He seemed to think that the Jazz have a good deal of leverage in this situation. He said DL might even be able to coax a future first out of Ainge.
