Not really, Shuebrooks is likely a better talent evaluator than Lindsey. It's what he does for a living. A GM is involved with the business side as well.
My mom probably knows best who's right for me in terms of choosing my bride ... doesn't mean I'll ask her to choose 1 for me though.

You're carrying this comparison way too far with the bride thing. It's more like a CEO asking an engineer about the specifics of a project. CEO runs circles around the engineer in terms of dealing with the company as a whole, arranging financing, M&A's, etc. but when it comes time to build the actual product, you better have the advice of some damn good engineers before you construct that 50-story building.
OK, how about this then. You're on the Bachelor. You're down to choosing between 2 girls.
Girl A shows you EVERYTHING she's got the night before. She loves you, she wants you, she's hot, etc, etc, etc,.
Girl B is very quiet and reserve. Her father is very traditional so no monkey business. She also loves you but doesn't show you "the goods" and simply whispers to you "Trust me - they're awesome".

Actually, it's not down to just 2 girls. I can choose between 4 or 5.
Girl B didn't show me the goods because she never thought I'd make it to the show. She was auditioning for different episodes in other cities and was thrown into the Utah version at the last minute. A complete surprise.
However, PG_AB has seen her goods many times. He can attest to the fact she is "fast and furious."
As for the other girls, one is a novice who is incredibly timid and may never learn how to please me - or maybe she becomes the best thing ever. I just don't know.
Another has a reputation for being a tough chick, but her temper is a red flag. Others are very similar to "girls" I already have in my harem.
We could go on with these sexual analogies, but they're silly. Especially the use of the word "girl."
Point is, the Jazz organization was probably MORE familiar with Exum than any other team in the league - save the ones Exum visited individually in his pre-draft workouts. They saw him measure out in several areas at the combine, They were able to sit down and talk BB with him in an interview. It was not a "blind faith' pick.
