Tires look like they're worth more than the rest of the vehicle.
Appears as if there is some rust on the frame, that's going to be the biggest problem.
Can't really see the axels or differentials, but the body looks like ****. I hate how the front end is lower than the rear, but that's just personal preference. Your entire body needs to be buffed out, get the rust off and then painted again. Just a guess, but I would imagine the shocks are in bad shape, and I can't imagine the engine or transmission are in good shape either.
As for ideas…that type of vehicle just isn't my thing. I'm assuming you want it for the dunes by Moab and whatnot?

(I love how people who have never had children are so quick to point out parental deficiencies, and give such sage advise on how to, and usually not to, raise a family.)
