Kamala Harris for Pres

Josh Shapiro would have been perfect. He's good on his feet and would do a better job at the whole tip toe, walk the line, balancing act they tried to shoehorn Kamala into. He should have been the VP pick probably.
Disagree. Josh Shapiro would have outshined Kamala. Josh Shapiro is a bright guy who is a solid communicator. He couldn't be the VP pick. He should have been the pick to top the ticket.

It was a beyond bad choice. There was plenty of time to gauge public sentiment and choose a different candidate. No way Kamala would have beat out Mayor Pete or Whitmer or Newsom or Shapiro.
I remember hearing something about if Kamala was not the choice then the person chosen would have to start from scratch with no money in the campaign coffers or something. So the mayor pete, whitmer, newsome, shapiro or whoever would have to start from scratch and would have little money and time to get ad and air time to get themselves known to the public.
Kamala being the choice meant that the money that had been raised for biden could be transferred to her I think. Maybe because she was the VP or something. IDK.

What if it was free to run for public office, how would that change U.S. politics? What if you didn't need to be a billionaire or have access to billions of dollars from donors?
Is it not free to run for public office? I have a friend whose name was on the ballot for state house seat (she won) and she broke as hell like me.

I don't want to get lost in the impracticality of this idea (I know it's not currently practical), but this is how I would love to have campaigns run:

- Candidates who would like to run for office submit qualifications to a committee of citizens (Kind of like a resume)
- Top 5 candidates are selected to run for office.
- Each candidate is given an equal platform (TV ads, websites, debate time, etc.). Costs are funded by government and candidates are disqualified if they break rules.
- Citizens are mailed an information packet with information on each candidate. There could be a QR code with a link to the candidates website for additional information.
love it

The effect I want it to have is for them to know how I feel about them.

You can't reason someone out of a point of view they didn't reason themself into. Being a Trump fart sniffer isn't something you can save someone else from.
You will keep losing elections handedly with that mindset.

That was the excuse and it was all BS. There was almost nothing in Biden's coffers. Within 24 hours of announcing Kamala, she had donations nearing $200 million dollars, which dwarfed the chump change in Biden's fund.

She was picked. The donations came in to her alone. The delegates were already lined up. The whole thing was rigged.

I've never lost an election. Never won one either unless my fifth grade class president victory counts.

I'm not going to try to convince disgusting people to be on my side. I don't want Trump voters to be on my side. I get it, this is who the U.S. is. I'm not interested in saving the U.S., I'm looking at making the best life for myself and my family can here, and if that becomes impossible I'll see if I can make a good life somewhere else.

I'm a veteran but today I no longer love this country and although I had a good experience in the military I wish I had never served a society that chooses Trump as their leader.

Fool the people once, shame on you. Fool them again, shame on them.

I’m the exact demographic that came out in record numbers for Trump. The right definitely has a lot more content out there for young males ages 18-29. Below is what I experience:

What is pushed is the left caters to small minority groups that the rest of the country disagrees with or doesn’t care about. Whether rightfully or wrongfully the left gets grouped in with being pro transgender men in sports and pro gender affirming care for minors, etc. People really don’t like that at all it seems to be majority against it even people who are Democrats. People are vocal about not wanting biological males in female sports. That is what gets pushed to the right as why they shouldn’t vote for the left.

You are so far gone if you think anyone who voted for Trump is disgusting. The exact type of mindset that turns people away.

Tell me again how much you hate being called a racist and a homophobe/transphobe.

Turns people away from what? You keep talking like I have some interest in all of this beyond stopping a disgusting unqualified person from being my President. I'm turning people away from myself?

Or do you for some bizarre reason think I give half a **** about a political party? I'm not a member of a political party and I think regular people who identify themselves as a Republican or Democrat are kind of dumb.

I'm actually registered as a Republican. Before Trump I had voted for a Democrat twice, a Republican twice and none of the above twice. I vote for good people, not a ****ing political party like some kind of simple idiot.

I think people underestimate how much calling people idiots, racist, homophobic, etc for supporting a politician has the opposite effect of what they think doing that will.

What do you mean by this exactly? You support a guy who is a total jackass rapist criminal and says the most idiotic, outlandish, racist, misogynistic, etc. **** and has done nothing but put down the USA and try to turn Americans against each other and you want us to ****ing coddle you? You are a total ****ing *****.

Lmao you guys literally prove my point.

Thier racism and anti-LGBTQ views. Yeah we already knew but you felt like putting it out there once again in black and white
Zero racism is pushed but yes there is anti-male in women’s sports pushed and gender affirming care for minors pushed.

Did I not say that in my post? I might have left it out. Circumstances around Brandon dropping out aside, Shapiro would've been better, I agree.

Edit: I didn't leave it out. Poorly worded maybe.

I don't think it would have mattered really. I think there was enough time for the electorate to get to know any of them. Mayor Pete, Newsom and Whitmer were already pretty well known. That was probably a convenient excuse for whoever chose Kamala. Damn, wish we knew who pushed Kamala. The Bidens?

I’m to help people understand why Trump won in a landslide and what is pushed to me as a young male 18-29.
The issue is why male voters such as yourself so easily hand wave away all the terrible stuff Trump says and does.

You would not let Trump babysit your child or manage your business but you just made him president of the country. That is a massive leap to take just because you hate identity politics.
