Mostly, your tribe is made up of childless women and single mothers. That is the most reliable demographic for the Democrats. The Republicans have men generally, and women with kids in intact families. There are exceptions everywhere, but statistically speaking there is a realignment going on among the electorate and that is the general direction. There is a lot of inertia to voting preferences and many will continue to vote as they have until the day they die, but broadly that is where the data says we are headed. I am more than happy with my tribe.

That's why I like whisky for such occasions. You can use it to celebrate or to drown your sorrows, both are perfectly cromulent uses for uisge beatha (literally "water of life" in Old Irish, but the Scottish spelling, because Scotch is better than Irish whisky).
