That's one of the reasons why Pete would be a good choice - given the compressed timeframe, he's already been vetted as both a candidate and as a cabinet member. Another one is that he and his husband already have a relationship with Kamala and her husband.

Pete is awesome and the best candidate for the job..... But not the best candidate to help get enough electoral votes to beat trump in the upcoming election.

The first video is another example of her not knowing how to answer simple questions and she talks in circles without making any sense or answering the question. This clip shows her answer.
