Sorry for asking a Google-able question but did Harris use the words price controls or did she say something else that basically means price controls?

I ask because it would have been stupid of her to say "price controls" in one of her first policy statements.

It’s right wing spin. She hasn’t called for price controls. She’s called for subsidies and tax incentives. And it’s hilarious watching folks freak out over price controls when their god has called for much worse economic policy.

Price control works when it comes in the form of breaking up monopolies and in scenarios where, as Fish brought up, only a tiny number of companies control the overwhelming majority of the supply.

The free market fails under those scenarios, and, if left unchecked, just results in a small handful of people profiting massively while everybody else loses.

Correct. Teddy Roosevelt and FDR in particular had a lot of success with this. There definitely comes a time when the federal government should act to protect consumers from large corporations and monopolies

There are legal avenues to become a citizen. To work here. Or, I guess, you can continue to say we need the illegals for cheap labor. Seems like a winning argument to me.

Personally I think that big corporations shouldn't be able to unfairly exploit consumers to run up excessive corporate profits on food and groceries.

I find it strange that anyone would be cool with that happening. Idk, maybe some consumers like being exploited in the name of excessive corporate profits.

As for struggling financially it all boils down to what it always has.

Don't want to struggle financially? Live within your means. Work hard, learn new skills, promote yourself, get training in fields that pay well, put in applications everywhere and take the best offer and then keep learning more and gaining more skills and apply for better jobs etc. Or have a good idea for a business and do what's necessary to get it going etc. (or be burn into money like trump)


Basically pull yourself up by your bootstraps blah blah blah.
That's the cold hard truth. But voters want the president/government to fix their lives and they demand answers/solutions to their problems so candidates can't give the honest answer to questions. They have to BS.

Poor people will always exist and always be ****ed. Middle class will always exist and get by. Rich will thrive. (Of course people will move about in these classes and there are subclasses within these classes as well but I'm trying to keep it simple)
So do what you can to be rich.


Obviously easier said than done though and the ability to do so seems to be getting more difficult as the wealth equality gap widens year after year.
