Kamala Harris for Pres

I thought Harris was composed, but sounded like a politician. I mostly enjoyed watching her facial expressions as Trump talked crazy.

Trump seemed like he was trying to be more reserved at first, but then went off the rails. I think he had the strongest talking point, i.e. why is Harris not currently doing the things she is talking about.
That debate was awful for Trump. He has the high ground in many areas and either the moderators wouldn't bring up those areas or Kamala replied to the question with a non-answer mini-speech that included a personal dig at Trump. Every time that happened, Trump would take the bait.

Moderators: Kamala, in the past you said thing. Now you say different thing. Why?

Kamala: Trump's rallies are long and boring. People are walking out of them.

Trump: My rallies are great, the best ever. A rally expert who was really smart said my rally was the best he'd ever seen.

I agree with you that Trump's closing comments about why Kamala hasn't done the things she's talking about was strong, but nobody watched it. People tune out after the first 20 minutes. He should have been hammering that all debate long. He should have replaced every rant he made against immigration with that argument of Kamala not doing the things she was talking about. It was a bad performance by Trump.

As a neutral I thought Trump kept pounding Kamala on the immigration issues and he did a good job of that.

Why does she wanna let so many migrants in?

She should change her stance on that.
He did a good job of lying about it. You seem to be one of those who will believe it if you hear it often enough. That's what he's banking on.

Nah I don’t think she denied letting migrants in or even try to.

Seems like it’s obviously part of her policy.

Which could lose her the election.. lol..

What a dumb move imo.

You haven't looked into the issue beyond the debate obviously. Do some googling and then get back to us.

1. What migrant crisis? Don't buy in to manufactured outrage.

2. Despite there being no crisis, she's actively proposing to fix the "crisis" with strong border policy legislation.

What else do you want?

Not to pull you up but its not fiscal conservatism its neo-liberalism, their was this little event in the late 20 called the great depression which was called the great depression because of a number of smaller less great depression that had preceded it. What the great depression effectively did was discredit liberalism as working economic idiom. Abandoning liberalism for Keynesian economics lead to what has been called the golden age of capitalism, it was called this because throughout the global west all citizens experienced significant increases in leisure time and living standards.

One of the particular features of liberalism was that the wealthy elite would actually benefit from economic instability, it would actually allow them to increase and further consolidate their wealth. It was in their class interest to continue the ideas of economic liberalism, which they did through well funded think tanks like the Mont Pelerin Society and economists like Friedman and Hayek Now the real triumph of economic liberalism is that it has to be the first time in human history where one failed idiom (Keynesianism) has been replaced by another already known to be failed idiom (Liberalism). Extraordinary, does it happen if it isn't in the class interests of the most powerful members of the society?
You seem to be overlooking the fact that neoliberalism has its roots in classical liberalism. History is an arc, things do not appear from nothingness.

While the term fiscal conservatism was coined in the 1930s, the ideas precede the term.

but even if we are discussing only semantics, your original implications that fiscal conservatism emerged in the Reagan era is erroneous.

To actually fix the crisis. The laws are already existing that make it illegal to cross into the United States outside of a designated border crossing and we already have a funded law enforcement organization set up to enforce those laws. Biden and Harris have everything they need. Proposing legislation (the job of a different branch of government) is blame-casting for choosing not to do the job that is within their power to do.

Is this the part where we talk about GOP backing away from legislation they negotiated because Trump and that ICE is deporting/arrest record numbers of illegal immigrants? Because if so, I'll copy/paste the usual stuff.

tl;dr: Stop buying the ******** about an immigrant crisis. It's a classic GOP talking point that's inane.

It became a thing in the real world during that period. Before that its was just the dream of a group of elites, people horrified by seeing poor people enjoying their lives. Reagan and Thatcher are genuinely the scum of the earth.

Just some info for you:

Former President Donald Trump claimed during Tuesday night’s debate that “21 million people” are crossing the border MONTHLY into the United States under President Joe Biden.

This number is false. The total number of “encounters” at the northern and southern borders from February 2021 through July 2024, at both legal ports of entry and in between those ports, was roughly 10 million.

So trump says 21 million per month. Actual number is 10 million over 4 years. See how he lies and people believe him? Also An “encounter” does not mean a person was let into the country; some people encountered are promptly sent away.

He sucked you in again. He'll be laughing his arse off grooming under-age girls online, celebrating getting you back on the hook.

It is disturbing how easily manipulated he was.
