Kanter restricted Free Agent

I still think that offensively kanter will be very good this season and his three ball will come around

I'd be really curious to know what the Jazz offered... Kanter has had injury issues. I may have thought long and hard about it if I was him.

we havent played 1 game yet and the Kanter haters already have him gone..he is a Jazzman and the team is ready to show what they have got.things will work out the way they are supposed to.lets just focus on team and not players right now ,root for them all to shine and go 1 and 0 on the season.go Jazz

Don't get me wrong I want him to succeed... he's a Jazzman... and he is very likeable. Will be rooting for him.

After seeing how the Hayward situation played out last season, I think it's a no brainer for every Jazz Player to opt for restricted free agency. What's the risk? You can have a really bad season and still get max money.

It depends on the agent/player.

Hayward came from a decently well off family, so he could afford to risk it. He was also one of his agents only players, so his agent wanted to make a name for himself, which probably led him to advise Hayward to go for the max.

It all depends on how risk adverse the agent/player is. Favors was very risk adverse and took less money for added security.

Does Burks want security or money? Who knows. I know his agent has a lot of high end clients, so it's not like he is banking on Alec's next contract to make his name.

There's no doubt Kanter is going to make serious money for his career,he's only 22 with a huge upside ...his ceiling is higher than both Favors and Gobert whether anybody likes it or not
This is an offensive league ,not a defensive league ...San Antonio destroyed that defense 1st mentality ,all headlines were about their offense .....Kanter will get into a groove and it won't stop.Right now he's adding a long range game to his inside game .Utah will be a minor league team developing young talent for title contenders if they develop Kanter into being a 20/10 player and let him go .

LOL what planet are you from?

I am a huge Kanter homer but you can't deny his projected ceiling has been lowering each year. It eventually will come down to how much he wants to stay in Utah which also depends a lot on how Snyder will make him feel this season.

I don't see how Kanter stays around. Unless Gobert really shows that he can never be a starter this season, and Kanter makes a huge impact (hit 3s consistently, rebound effectively, massive improvement in passing), I can't see us dropping the money on him. He will obviously have to completely suck for his value to decrease, in which case would we even want him?

I hope he has a good contract season but I bet he's going to be playing for another team.

Moe Harkless got a DNP and he is not injured. Kanter for Harkless, staight? anyone?

Seriously, WTF's up with Harkless?

I don't think I'd do it, straight up. But I'd counter for more and see where it went. I think Vaughn is a bad coach; and I think Snyder could add value to a guy like Harkless.

Tons of potential and he is in a rebuilding team. Mind-boggling that he didn't play. Unless, of course, there were some personal problems. I would love the trade even if it is straight up. I don't like anyone else on Magic and they wouldn't give up any first round pick.
