Kanter & The Suns

I think a deal could be had with the Suns based on their GM's comment in this article on ESPN:

Those were the words from Phoenix Suns general manager Ryan McDonough during a radio interview on Wednesday when discussing his roster.

"I think our roster balance is a little off, and that's my fault," McDonough told Burns and Gambo on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. "We are a little too backcourt heavy, especially in terms of guys who, you know, I think you'd define primarily as scorers in the backcourt. So I think at some point we'll need to balance that out, try to get a little more size, a little more frontcourt scoring and rebounding."

The Suns currently have eight wings (SG's/SF's) on the roster and they are: Eric Bledsoe, Reggie Bullock, Zoran Dragic, Archie Goodwin, Gerald Green, Marcus Morris, P.J. Tucker and T.J. Warren, which means a few of them will have a hard time making the playing rotation. Also, four players can play at point guard and they are Goran Dragic, Bledsoe, Isaiah Thomas and Tyler Ennis.

There has been talk that center Miles Plumlee id available if a team is willing to give up a future first round pick.

Speaking of Goran Dragic, he owns a player option worth $7.5 million for next season, which he's expected to decline so he can join the 2015 free agent market. For that reason there has been some speculation that Dragic could be traded by the Feb. 19 deadline since the Suns can lose him for nothing in July.

Gery Woelfel of The Journal Times adds to the speculation by tweeting: "Hearing Suns want a first-rounder for Goran Dragic and, rest assured, they'll get it. Rockets got to be tempted."

So, does McDonough think he'll make a trade by next Thursday's deadline?

"At the same time it's a challenge because we do have talented players, they've all had success individually and team success in the NBA," he said, "so those are some of the decisions we'll kind of mull over the next week or so and we'll see where we are on the 19th next week."

There are a few players I like from the Suns that's realistic for us: Reggie Bullock and Archie Goodwin.

Bullock is a 3 and D player that should fit right into our system. Goodwin I think has lots of potential. If we can get both of those for Kanter I'd be very happy.

Suns probably have the most assets in terms of young players at all positions, veterans on cheap deals, and lots of picks.

The Suns have told the league Goodwin is not for sale, they like his potential (for some reason).
However their 3 head PG monster is coming apart at the seams lately. You'd have to think the iron is hot for the Jazz to get one of them.
Obviously Kanter alone isn't enough, just a small piece of a larger package.

Bullock. Loved the little I saw of this kid at LAC. He has great length and could develop into a quality shooter.

Goodwin should change his name to Badlose.

Just because u've seen it doesn't mean that others have. If you don't like it, don't read it. Doesn't mean others can't benefit from it.

No. Stop posting things Bawse Dawg has seen please.

Me too.

I think Bullock for Kanter is a fair trade for all. The Suns could use Kanter's inside scoring, and we could use a defensive wing that can knock down corner 3's. It's a win/win.

Can Bullock play Small Forward? Cause I only want dudes that can cover the SF position when we need them to.

Well, since there's no official Trade Thread, I'll repost the ones I had in the superthread that got deleted.

Played with the ESPN trade machine for the first time. Any thoughts?
