It's not nothing, but it's not a whole lot. Kanter, for all his faults is still a 22 year old 6-11 guy who gets 14 and 7 in less than 30 mins. And we have him restricted next year. If you are given so little in return, just wait and try sign and trade. We got very very little for young talent we just lost.

Except for the disrespect Kanter showed by publicly demanding a trade and then blowing a kiss at the media the other night. Kanter was going to be a cancer. There are very few S&T deals anymore. Besides, you are not factoring in what Ergul said about their belief that Enes is the best player of his generation. What team is going to offer him $15M and then trade us assets? If they want him at that price, they KNOW Utah isn't going to match, given Kanter's comments.

But I doubt it would even get that far. Kanter wouldn't risk Utah matching. And they know the cap is going way up in 2016. Enes would have signed the QO, been a distraction for another year and then left as an UFA. PERHAPS we could have received a late first by trading him at the deadline next season to a contender. Oh wait, we got that.

I also love the idea that the GM watch the mocks... The mocks are generally based off of what the GMs are saying to the mock writers. Thompson was looked at as a reach when drafted that high... Kwahi was predicted to go higher, but he landed in the perfect developmental situation, so who knows what he becomes if he is drafted by say Sacramento. He'd probably still be good, but that guy worked frickin hard to develop his game.

This is not a perfect science... it is really easy to go back in time and say we should have drafted player X.

How about picking players based on some kind of objective data and analysis? And hopefully that analysis discounts the value of Turkish D-League and Australian high school stats and scouting. That would decrease the amount/quality of divining required to make a good pick.

How about also discounting the stats in some French league. Let's only draft players who have been on the best US college teams and led their teams to a deep run in the tourney. That way we can get great prospects like Trey Burke and avoid risky almost certain busts like Rudy Gobert.

I'm going to focus my frustrations on every time Exum has the setup for that amazing hesitation drive to the baseline and passes in lieu of giving it to Booker, Millsap, or Ingles. I still like Exum, but everytime I see him pass that up I die a little inside.
