Kanter's agent think Cavs could draft him #1

This is EXACTLY why I thought the FO would be leaking rumors about our sure-fire desire for Enes. Perhaps they are sure the other FOs would be confident that such a leak, if too early, would be disingenuous, and we may see such development this week. I think our hand is significantly strengthened if people think we're after Enes.
Undoubtedly. I hope you're right about the timing issue.

If Cleveland takes Irving #1 and DWill goes #2 to Minny, the Jazz should take Kanter. Cleveland then has no choice but to take Knight and swap picks with us. Our fee? Their second round pick.

No question. If the Cavs really want Kanter, make them sweat and possibly shake up the top 2. It's a great way for Irving or Williams to possibly slide to us.

Man I love this year's draft.....not for talent, but for the sheer fact that no one knows what's going to happen.

Kanter is the only possible big man that Cleveland could pair with Irving? Wow. We really do have them right where we want them. I say we force them to give us Irving for Kanter. Assuming they don't notice the gap in logic we'll be golden!

Wait...what? That's like saying, if you want this Rolex, you have to give me a coupon for a free whopper. No thanks, Kanter is a top 3 pick, if you move up just one spot, it's not worth a 2nd rounder.

It depends on the personnel and team in question. If Cleveland is dead-set on getting Kanter (and they should, IMO), the Jazz have to find a way to get something out of their positioning if Kanter isn't their first-choice of those available. At the very least, leak the interest in hopes that it might raise Kanter's stock generally and have bidders. Worst-case scenario, you draft a kid with a lot of promise. Leaking that you're high on the kid that won't be drafted at 4 doesn't necessarily do you any favors.

But could the lack of strong signals that we like him actually trick teams into thinking we like him? I know that sounds stupid, but teams may think we are trying to mind **** them by not saying anything, leaving them utterly confused.
