What's new

Kemba Walker CANCELS workout against Jimmer!!!

Everyday I hear something new that makes me worry Fredette won't make it to 12. He's infectious.

It's like having two girlfriends and you just can't make up your mind. There are so mamy reasons I'd love to see Jimmer on the Jazz...and so many reasons I don't. Moving up from #6 was the best thing to happen to Utah. When Jimmer was projected top-10, there may have been some pressure to draft him at #6. Now, there is absolutely none. WE know he's not going #3, no matter how much the Jazz may like him. KOC might be secretly hoping Fredette goes somewhere in the 8-11 range. He can say the Jazz really liked him, but were just unable to move up. Then he can draft the best available wing. However, IF the Jazz don't take Knight at #3 and Fredette is still there at #12. it might be a PR nightmare to not draft him.

I think you might be right. I don't understand why lots of posters keep dismissing Jimmer, even in this weak(er) draft. This reminds me of Jameer Nelson situation a few years back. But the difference now is that teams had a chance to learn from that experience. Plus Jimmer is bigger, more athletic (surprisingly came #12 athlete in the draft, which is actually quite good: https://www.draftexpress.com/article/Analyzing-the-NBA-Combine-Athletic-Testing-Results-3728/), and had even better College accomplishments. If we can get a guy like that late in lottery, we did well in ANY draft, not to mention a weak one, such as this. And I couldn't care less that he played his College ball in Utah. Getting the best player in NCAA who is scoring close to 30 ppg with good shooting percentages, has solid assist numbers, has good size and athleticism, led his team to #13 rankings in NCAA is not the worst thing you can get late in lotto. Even if he is a senior. Let's hope he is on the board at 12.

Very well said!

With all due respect to Jimmer, Kemba Walker has nothing to gain by going head to head with point guards projected lower than him in the draft.
