Added benefit if Gordon is a top 3 and Jazz get a 3-4 pick, they could trade down if someone with picks 5-9 have a crush on Embiid/ Exum, and pick up other assets in the trade, due to the perception that the draft is stronger at the top than it really is (could pick up a future first rounder or a solid current player).
I think 3-9 are going to be very fluid and unpredictable, similar to the top of last year's draft. There will be a "consensus" that will be pretty wrong.
DL seems to be not interested in getting more young guys. He even mentioned this in season ending interviews. He talked about either taking all our picks and using them to get an vet all-star( Jazz land would turn on DL in a second) and he isn't necessarily looking to acquire more picks like last year. So doubt he would move down unless it was to good to pass up.
Say if Exum and Randle and Gordon were still on board and the Lakers were two slots behind us. They really want Exum over Randle and they know that if the Jazz pick Exum then next team picks gordon and the Lakers are stuck with Randle who they aren't thrilled about. This type of scenario isn't that likely but it would take something like this where there is a team who badly wants a player and he won't be available for sure at their pick. Even with that the Lakers don't really have any get first round picks in a while and there are no interesting players on their team that are realistic to get.
