Kings To Stay in Sacramento?

The biggest issue to me still is that the Hansen-Ballmer group wants to pay more money for the Kings than the Sacramento group. So of course the Maloofs want to make that deal happen. The Maloofs also negotiated a good-faith deal with that group. To me, the NBA can't worry about not letting another Sonics moving to OKC happening. It's hypocritical that the NBA allowed the lying PoS Clay Bennett and his cronies to buy the Sonics and not let the Hansen-Ballmer group buy the Kings.

Making a mistake and then learning from it is now hypocritical?

Having Clay Bennett on the relocation committee is hypocritical. The Hansen-Ballmer group is being upfront and not spitting out lies about their intentions to move the Kings. If the NBA really thinks it was such a mistake to let the Sonics move, it's hypocritical that Seattle has been hung out to dry with the NBA making no efforts to actually fix their mistake.

Ballmer and Hansen can simply apply for a new franchise, right? Why is it so important to them to get an existing franchise?

Because you really should add two teams at a time and the league should be contracting, not expanding. And there are a number of teams that are floundering where they are despite having good teams (Atlanta, Indy, New Orleans), deservedly can't get traction (Charlotte Bobcats), and/or are in a bad geographic location and have basically no tradition of success (Minnesota and Sacramento).

I have no problem with Seattle getting any of those teams except the Hawks and Pacers and you could make a case for them. Hell, put the Clippers on the list if Chris Paul doesn't re-sign and Sterling has become sick of owning a team.
