Kings try to tank the tank

This Jimmer is going to get a chance at the backup point spot.

The Kings are going to roll with a pair of really big SF's in Gay and D. Williams.

Interesting. I wonder if the Kings ever said to themselves, hey I wonder why Memphis and Toronto didnt want gay?...

Apparently their coach has said that Jimmer is a third string sg not a pg. So unless they make a deal rookie Ray McCallum is their back-up pg. he has played 1 game thus far this season.

I wonder if dleauge superstars Pierre Jackson or Seth Curry are options? Or a trade of Jason Thompson or Jimmer for a pg?

The Kings are who we thought they were!

Rudy Gay isn't too bahhhd. He might actually complement Cousins, who knows? I know a lot of people here think a trade is horrible for a certain team and then that team goes and whippity whoops some AZZ.

This trade ALMOST guarantees us last spot in the West. I think that adding Rudy Gay alone gives the Kings 10 more wins this season. That would be more than twice as many wins as we have in the first 20 games of the season.

Currently there are 13 teams competing for the playoffs in the West and the Kings look like they want to be the 14th team. It looks like most of the talent in the 2014 lottery will be heading out East. Or that we should be trading for picks with teams in the East. Teams like Memphis, Minnesota, and the Lakers are going to be in a dogfight with Golden State, Dallas, and Denver for the playoff scraps. There should be plenty of 30 - 40 win teams in the West. Start cheering for scrubs on Orlando, Milwaukee, Toronto, Philly, New York, Nets, and other teams that are fast joining the REAL competition of 2014.

Toronto is all-in on the tank more than Sacramento. I think Sac-town is actually trying to get in the playoffs. Out of all years to reach for the 7 or 8 seed and miss the lottery, this doesn't seem like the best year.

I agree. I think this trade actually helps the Kings. They want to run and shoot the ball. I think the Jazz are a shoo-in for a top 4 pick because I think they might just have the worse record. The Kings were are only competition in the West.

Toronto beat LA so for the moment I doubt they are tanking. What this does is allow Toronto cap space for next year. Boston a team who I thought was in tank mode is in first place. Granted the Atlantic division is the worse but that actually works in the Jazz favor. NY/NYB/Philly are still in the hunt for the playoffs even with their bad records. Both NY/Brooklyn have had major injuries so they are going to improve.

Orlando is better than expected and right now they are around .500. Jazz have two major road trips where they might solidify their hold on the number one pick. Personally, I am ok with getting the 2nd or 3rd pick and even the 4th or 5th (though I would be a little bummed with 4th and 5th).

Marvin Williams might be out for a while and Ty is playing Biedrins over Gobert so things are looking good for the tank.

Toronto tanking and Sactown trying to compete are perfect for Utah. That leaves Utah alone at the bottom in the west and adds one more crab to the bucket in the east. The east will limit each others tank effectiveness.

We can now have Wiggins to Toronto and Jabari to us!

Honestly I think The Raptors will do a little better without Gay.... soooo.

Yeah, but when you're a brand new owner and your franchise was on the brink of being relocated on several occassions, rewarding Sacramento's efforts with a 10 win tank job may not be the best way to ingratiate yourself with a fan base that's already seen a revolving door of failed lottery picks.
