Klay Thompson at 12?

I just don't really like Klay Thompson's games for the NBA. He seems like a spot up shooter who can put the ball on the floor who can take 1-2 dribbles and pull up. I don't really see how else he contributes to the team. It would be nice having another deadly shooter though, and Thompson may be the best shooter in the draft. I'd still rather have Hamilton though. I like his size, knowledge of the system, post up ability, and overall a more diverse offensive threat.

If he can play defense - Yes.

If he can't play defense - No (Korver clone).

With or without defense he is definitely not a Korver clone. By saying that you once again show your ignorance as one of the worst posters on the board. Klay Thompson can put the ball on the floor much better than Korver.

sure, he can put the ball on the floor, but he lacks the explosive first step necessary to create his own offense (thereby severely limiting whatever props you were just giving him for his handles). He's also bad on D. Pass.

My wing chart:
DWill2
Vesely
Hamilton
Leonard
Burks
K.Thompson
etc.

I'm not high on him, but I wouldn't be too upset if the Jazz drafted him. That is, assuming both Biyombo and Hamilton are already off the board (slim chance, at least Hamilton should be available).

Hey - you don't know that. Nobody does. There's been many one hit wonders in the past, Morrison, Alexander just to name a few.

If you or I can accurately predict how these guys will develop we won't be here discussing. We'd be in the Jazz's war room.

Obviously I'm not saying that he's exactly the same as Korver - all I'm saying is he could be a one dimensional player - it's possible isn't it?

This is a new low even for you.

I'd prefer Singleton, Jimmer, and of course Burks over Thompson. I like Burk's ability to drive to the rim more and find him more versatile. If you want Thompson because of his offense, and lack thereof from defense, just take Jimmer since I have almost as many questions on defense, plus you get a MUCH better ball handler/passer in Jimmer. Singleton's D would be a nice addition to the Jazz and someone who can guard 2 and 3 as a rookie.

Basically, I'd pick three players that could be available @12 over Thompson.

He should be a decent player, a Rip Hamilton, Reggie Miller-type shooter. I'm in the camp that thinks Jordan Hamilton is a better pick though, given that we already have Hayward, and Hamilton has better size and versatility.
