I was impressed with how he was guarding Melo. Of course Melo isn't nearly as good anymore, but still a good matchup test.

Hayward did this last time we got embarrassed. I think he realizes that this team needs leadership and he steps up. Only problem is, is that it only last the one game. I really wish he would solidify his spot as a leader consistently, not just after a beat down.
Playing time in a bunch of D-league games is probably more valuable than a few minutes of garbage time in one NBA game
Yes but if he doesn't get minutes when Gobert is out, he will never get minutes this season. Failed investment?

This. The same thing with Faves. He has that huge game and then last night ****s the bed. But more of the blame certainly goes on Hayward's shoulders imo as he is the leader and vet of the bunch.
He's like a 13th man, who cares.
He will make $3 million this season, Jazz could have used that money much better.
If the Jazz were even close to the cap I would care. But they aren't, and I don't. Neither should you.
