Knicks planning on going after D-Will?

Could only pursue them in trades next year, which neither the Jazz nor NO will do since there'll be nothing either team wants from New York.

New York cant get anyone they want. They got the worse big name FA this year in Amare, they are total failures.

They are more likely to get Parker than either Deron or CP (unless CP wills it to happen). Parker's 2010/2011 year is the end of his contract, meaning they could sign him next offseason. Deron and CP are both on contracts through 2011/2012 year, and each have a player option for the 2012/2013 year (each at 17.7 million). If the new CBA is anything close to what everyone is hyping up, I don't see Deron walking away from 17.7 million, and the Jazz certainly aren't going to trade him.

NY seeing the writing on the wall with this years FA's is in CYA mode. They've lived off the hope of "the King" for 2-3 years. This probably won't be the last time you hear this rumour, because they need to sell hope to thier fans.

Anyone else believe that the Knicks might actually be worse this season than they were last season?

Think about it. The Knicks are effectively counting on Amare to replace both David Lee and Al Harrington's production AND Amare is likely going to experience the greatest downgrade in starting point guard possible.

If he gets hurt at all I think they're looking at a 20 win season. And Amare hasn't exactly been the healthiest guy in the world even with the benefit of the Suns' staff.

Good points. NY made a ballsy move to get Amare, but then turned around and traded all star David Lee for pretty much nothing, which nearly offsets entire Amare gain. Why not just keep both? Amare is 6-10 and can play C, and David would play PF. Then you could see the team being upgraded. As it stands now, probably another lottery pick for NY. Not sure if this is the situation DWill would like.
