Korver signs with Bulls! (3 yrs/15 mil)

The Bulls are like us last year. The Stud PG, and Boozer + Korver.

The X factor is Noah. I'm curious to see how Boozer plays next to someone like that over Memo.

It's a clear choice: Korver or Matthews. Because Matthews wasn't a draft pick, we're forced to use all or part of the MLE to match an offer to him. Re-sign Korver and all Portland, or whatever other team wants Matthews has to do is offer Wesley the MLE -Korver's salary + $1.00 and we couldn't do a thing.

Matthews >>>> Korver. It was a no-brainer by KOC.

I don;t know why everyone has their panties in a wad. We got Korver for two things: hit a 3 and make FT's in the 4th quarter. Yes, he was good for a couple of 3's per game. Big freakin' deal. Let's have CJ, Matthews or Hayward take a couple of 15-ft jumpers. Oh well, we lost 2 points. Personally, I was pissed at the end of the season because it looked like he was protecting the record, passing up some good looks when we needed his scoring. And his FT percentage dropped 10%. If we need to protect a lead, Deron, Hayward, CJ and Matthews have all showed they can hit FT's. And it appears Gordon can be a better ball-handler than Kyle.

Who doesn't think Hayward can average 7 pts in 18 mins with 2 rbds, 2 assists and .5 steals? Kyle's career FG average is only 43%. I'm pretty confident Gordon can be better overall than Korver. No, he doesn't have the 3-pt shooting range Korver has. But he'll be a much better overall player.

There are simply no minutes for Kyle:

PF - Millsap (33); AK (15)
SF - AK (17); CJ (16); Hayward (15)
SG - Matthews (32); CJ (16)

exactly...

people get the idea that brewer and kirilenko are superior defenders because they are athletic and get their hands into passing lanes. The only thing they fail to remember is that defense is also played man-to-man, which neither of those guys are able to stay in front of their man. Away from the ball, they also don't stick with their man too well (especially andrei). Korver stays tight with his man, which goes unnoticed not only by the box score, but also by the fans because they never have their attention drawn to it since the tighter you play your man away from the ball, the less likely that man ever gets the ball.

troy?????

Wait, people are mad about this? Lol.

I want The Jazz to be as far under the luxury tax as possible going in to the season. That way we can either use some of our TPE's or actually take back talent in a trade for AK.

I'm actually pleased with this off-season so far. As long as we dont do anything retarded like sign Al freaking Harrington.

Yeah, Korver was gone the minute we drafted Hayward. His good performance at the camp only made decision that much more obvious. The team is in cost cutting mode, and there simply is no point to pay Korver 5 mil a year when we have Matthews, CJ, Hayward, and AK playing his position and making 28 mil (assuming Wes gets CJ Miles - like offer). Of course that means we just lost best NBA 3 point shooter that proved he can stretch defenses in addition to losing a 20-10 PF, but ... financially it just does not make sense to keep KK. I am sure KOC's big move will come soon enough though to make up for the losses. I can see it now: Jazz will match offer sheet for Fess.

Defensively it will help Boozer. Offensively he will now be covered by 2 bigs instead of a big and a wing. I think Noah's defense helps but offense hinders Boozer.

I guess this confirms that Boozer wasn't a locker room cancer like some people thought.

Maybe, maybe not... either way, I really don't think Korver 'followed' Boozer to Chicago... they made him an offer, and he had to sign somewhere. Korver was pretty clear at the end of the season that he wanted to stay here in Utah, and I believe, would have stayed for less money than the Chicago offer. Tweets from Siler indicate that the Jazz never made him an offer.
