SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz were unable to come back in the second half after getting steamrolled early by the Miami Heat.

Utah fell to Miami, 111-105.

The Jazz have lost four of their last five games, bookended by losses to Miami in what has been the worst stretch of basketball for the roster since losing four consecutive games to the Los Angeles Clippers to end their 2020-21 campaign.

The team is also just 1-2 to open their five-game home-stand after starting the season 4-0 at home.

Bojan Bogdanovic led the Jazz with 26 points. Donovan Mitchell added 22 points.

Jordan Clarkson led Utah’s second unit with 25 points.

All five Heat starters reached double figures in scoring, led by Tyler Herro’s 27 points.

First Quarter

The Jazz started the game with the same issues they had in their loss to Indiana, surrendering bad offensive rebounds and missing an overwhelming amount of their shots.

As a result, the Heat jumped out to a 17-5 lead midway through the quarter.

However, Miami struggled after going to its bench while the Jazz climbed back in the game thanks to Jordan Clarkson. The Jazz sixth man scored 11 of his first quarter points in the final 76 seconds of the period to trail the Heats lead to just three after one.

Jazz trailed the Heat 27-24 after one.

Second Quarter

The Jazz allowed the Heat to jump out to a 14-3 run to open the quarter and erased any momentum Clarkson gave them.

Miami scored 26 points in the paint while the Jazz managed just 12 on 6-11 shooting. The Heat took 19 attempts near the rim which allowed them to hang with the Jazz despite knocking down just 33 percent of their threes in the first half.

Mike Conley’s mini struggle continued in the first half shooting just 1-4 from the floor and 1-3 from deep.

Outside of Clarkson’s burst late in the first quarter, the Jazz didn’t appear to have a major spark at any point against Miami.

Third Quarter

The Jazz had their worst quarter of the game in the third, managing just 21 points while allowing Miami to score 37.

The Heat came out of halftime looking sharper and more engaged than the Jazz who couldn’t find the urgency to erase a 1o point halftime deficit.

Instead, Miami saw their lead balloon to 26 going into the final period as they shot 15-21 from the floor and 5-7 from the three-point line.

The Jazz meanwhile shot just 6-17 from the field and 1-10 from three.

After three, the Jazz trailed Miami 95-69.

Fourth Quarter

Bojan Bogdanovic did his best to help the Jazz cut the deficit during the final 12 minutes of action. Bogdanovic scored 19 of his 26 points during the final quarter.

From the 4:23 mark until the final seconds of game time, Utah went on an 18-0 run.

Tyler Herro sunk a pair of foul shots with 10.9 seconds left to end Miami’s scoreless streak and make it a 111-105 game.

Utah was unable to hit from three and the game ended with a Heat victory.

Unlike the last time the @utahjazz did this to Miami, they don't have to play again tomorrow night, so win or lose, I think you hope this fourth quarter has given them momentum to finish this home stand better than they played in Orlando.

With the loss, the Jazz fell to an 8-5 record this season.
