Kudos in advance to KOC

At least we're hearing chatter about possible deals. That means KOC is actively seeking trades. And this is very uncharacteristic that trade rumors involving the JAzz are leaked. I wonder if KOC will react angrily in the media tomorrow.

In any case, even if deals don't get done and the Jazz just let some contracts expire, my appreciation to KOC for apparently acknowledging there is no good reason for keeping Bell, Howard and Miles. Also, it appears, the youngsters are untouchable at this point.

Really? Kudos to KOC for actively seeking trades? That is his job. Do you give a tip to the McDonald's drive thru guy for asking If you would like to drink your beverage with a straw instead of slamming the cup into your face while driving? And kudos to KOC before He does anything? Wow! A team sends him a trade offer, He looks at it.... And your ready to jump on the koc stiff noodle express?? Woooooooowwww!!!!!!!

I think it was Kudos for the fact that he wants to get rid of Miles, Bell and Howard but who wouldnt..

Yes, that was it. And I think the fact we're hearing rumors signals that he's been a lot more active than in the past. We generally hear very little chatter.

Honestly, I would rather the players not know that they're actively getting traded. Seems like it's bad for team chemistry.

Yeah, but is it better that you tell them face-to-face, or them finding out later through the media that a trade fell through because the other team backed out?

I would keep all trades as secret as possible and tell the player as soon as it has happened....
Pretty much the Deron Williams trade scenario except tell Williams ASAP.

But I guess these pesky reporters would try to find out before anyways, so really there's no solution...

Clearly in reference to the Dwill trade.

Sometimes what is most important is sealing the deal. This is a business after all. I am certain that if it was possible KOC would have been softer on the let go of Williams. But if he had done that it opens up the possibility of Williams' agent leaking that and ruining a deal.

No. Players get paid a lot and one of the sucky things they have to deal with is sudden changes of their situations. If DWill is pissed i bet he wouldn't give back several mil to have had KOC's respectful heads up.

Glad you came into work to do your job today

None of those players has significant value, and the jazz will be little changed/improved if we trade one of them for another wing. Jazz need to trade Al or Sap for a really good wing or pg. Anything less will be insignificant.

The wing will come in the draft if it is coming. All this does is get rid of problem players and give some time to Burks.

So you get rid of problem wings and bring in better wings. How does that do anything but create less time for Burks? You have your logic backwards.

Besides, the time is there for Burks, just up to Ty to use him.

My logic is fine. It is Ty that has his logic backwards.

So would KOC. Are you suggesting otherwise?

As far as the Deron Williams thing goes, KOC wasn't going to tell Deron that the trade was happening before it had been finalized, the rumor leaked before the trade was finalized. That's not KOC's fault.

I'm not sure what I was saying any more..

But man, I just realized how much of a tradeable asset CJ is to the Nets now that I just got this tidbit:

Dwight Howard called a meeting of teammates in San Antonio today, told them he was "all in" for rest of season, source tells Y! Sports.
Howard proceeded to tell each player what he needed to do for Magic to win a title, source says. So far, that's as much as I have.

Which means that now more than ever, the Nets need to do something to make D Will stay. And if CJ is as buddy buddy with D Will right now, that means we can get a lot out of the Nets from CJ.

If Dwight opts in, Deron is gone. Maybe the discussion can turn into him wearing Josh Howard's old number next season...
