LA Clippers Lob City vs. Utah Jazz Swat Lake City, Wed. 8:30 MT ESPN

I just rewatched the game and it was frusterating.

Missed free throws (especially the tech/defensive 3 sec), bad call on the flop.

Griffin was clearly falling down before contact was made and it was a light bump at that. Millsap looked lazy and out of place again tonight. To start the game he was standing on defense. I think he might be frusterated about something.

Jeffersons lazy foul on Blake at the end to give him the and 1 really killed me. Had he allowed the shot we could have tied with the last free throw, had he not allowed the shot and got in place and fouled there is a good chance Blake misses one or both.

The bright note for me is Kanter and Favors looked great when they came in the first half. I really wished they would have played more. They were much better on pick and roll, much better on FTs, much better help defense and their offense game was the best of the season. Both had great post moves. Both hit mid-range jumpers and made FT's. Corbin needs to sit Jefferson and Millsap when they play lazy defense the first time they stand and watch a guy come through the lane and dunk with no contest. Favors and Kanter are both capable of playing more time on any given night if needs be.

Maybe I missed one then? which game he made it?

I would write up which games but I really don't remember my friend, too much cafein in my veins now. And Actually he made 2 of them and missed 3 or 4 times. Now with this game I tihnk he made the third one. When I get it I post it.

Worst thing about this game was losing Earl.

Positives were Big Al, Miles, Hayward, and Favors. Kanter had some nice moments in the 1st half as well.
That move by Harris to set up Kanter was unbelievable.

Favors put in work at the FT line. Good job kid. I hope the rest of the team follows suit.

Yea the flop was a bad call but the Jazz blew many chances. I am encouraged with the loss because the Jazz went toe to toe with a real contender tonight. Losing sucks but lessons can be learned from losing tough games. It helps the next time when the Jazz are in a close game, its called gaining experience. Yes it can be painful. Think about some of the positives. Hayward got pissed tonight and didn't back down. Kanter's defense is encouraging. The team stayed right there even though both PGs got hurt. Jazz didn't do the little things to win tonight. They didn't get the key rebound or make their free throws nor did they shoot well in the 3rd quarter. Teams tend to lose when they shoot 24 percent for a quarter. Yet they hung in there. I know there are no moral victories but if teams are smart they can learn from this.

I see the Clippers the same way I see the Heat. They have superstars and that will get them far but they are a not a team. Not yet. Give them a year or two to pick up those surronding guys. (See Battier in Miami)

As far as the Utah loss I am looking at it like this. No one expected Utah to do much this year. Even with this loss they are 4 games above .500. Look at the loss last night, against Dallas (in Utah) and agaisnt the Lakers (in Utah). They were right there fighting for those games and all 3 were very winnable. They are already farther along then many of us expected. That is a good sign.

If they had beaten those teams (and the winnable Toronto game) Utah would be 16-4 instead of 12-8. I see a bright future that may be nearer than we thought.

Edit: Also Big Al had 4 assists last night. That was one of the 2 biggest complaints about him. Black hole and horrible D. Well he is passing more and his D is better. Not good mind you but better.

I only watched the 1st quarter, but what the heck was going there? It was Lob City. Why didn't Ty call a TO and do some *** chewing? Sounds like Favors and Kantor played really well but got their usual mintues. The bit of Favors I did see he was looking tremendous, great post moves, good D on Griffin. I was praising Ty for his personel decisions the previous game but it sounds like he blew it last night.

I found their celebration to be ridiculous.

Really! I felt it was complimentary! And i remember Jazz players doing similar little celebrations (yes, during the season) many, many times. It highlights how badly they wanted this game, and without wanting it that bad i don't think they would of won.

Couldn't put it better myself:

Steve Luhm @sluhm
Griffin might have flopped, but Jefferson's incredibly soft foul right there means Jazz don't deserve to win.

Don't kill Jefferson on that play - kill The Jazz's pathetic full court press defense.

Jefferson was stuck in no-mans defending the basket and two players at the same time. If he over-committed to Griffin there was another Clipper player (I think Jordan) at the rim ready for an easy basket. By the time he got to Griffin he had a full head of steam - no player in the league can stop that. It was a **** situation to be in and I blame the other 4 defenders on the court way more than I blame Jefferson.

We destroyed them a short while ago, and blew a chance to build on that... plus there is the historical record...so this was an important win for the Clippers. Who cares if they celebrate? You guys get all upset over the silliest things.
