we might have had a chance to land howard... i mean, yeah, he would not have resigned with the jazz, but don't act like jefferson and/or millsap will for sure be back by next year's time. we won't be able to resign them, too, arguably even not one of them. we would have to overpay which the jazz organisation shouldn't do.

i hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate the fakers. they again get the best center for nothing. i would be ok with howard playing for the okc, dallas and so on, but come on, the lakers? good damn! nash is going to average 20 assists per game...

A little quick insight that hopefully makes Jazz fans feel better:

At the age of 19, I went in for the EXACT back procedure that Dwight had this past season. The good news is that I don't think Dwight will ever be back to 100%, but the bad news is that he'll probably be back to around 90% of his former self and that still makes him pretty damned good. The other bit of good news is that the best Dwight can hope for is that his condidtion doesn't continue to decline at a steep rate. A big guy with disc problems is never going to get better. The trick is slowing down the decline long enough to get some sort of career out of it.

I really hate that this trade went through. First of all, it seems like people trip over themselves to hand L.A. top talent. It also makes it seem as if the recent NBA lockout was for NOTHING. With that being said, Bynum was a really good player. Howard is better and is also probably better at staying mentally engaged night in and night out, but one could argue that when Bynum was at his best that he was very close to a Howard type of player.

I think the biggest thing being overlooked here is that Denver upgraded themselves with AI and now Utah has to deal with a strengthened division foe.
 
I have to agree that Bynum is no slouch. Just that this always seems to happen and I am tired of seeing all these super teams. Gasol and Howard have the chance to be deadly.

Miami has to be pissed if this goes down. LA will be equal to or better at ever position but SF.
 
I'm so glad that the CBA prevents the rich from becoming richer and protects small market teams like the Jazz from being destroyed by big market teams who hoard the NBA's talent..... It's not like Miami added a future HOF this offseason... It's not like LA added one of the league's best PGs and Cs this offseason... Oh wait...

Well, at least the Jazz added Marvin Williams...
 
I'm still trying to understand how the CP3 to the Lakers deal was voided by the league for "basketball reasons", even though the deal was good for all teams involved, but this deal will likely be approved even though Orlando is getting nothing in this deal. Not even unprotected picks. There is probably even sand in the vaseline that the other teams are using on Orlando.
