There has already been considerable talk about the Lakers potentially targeting Williams in 2012 free agency, and if the Jazz can't put together a winning team before then there's a real chance that their franchise player could walk away.

Considering that they have AT LEAST $57 million on their payroll for that season and the CBA is universally accepted as being more restrictive and more favorable to owners, I don't see that happening. Especially since there's a fringe chance that something resembling a franchise-tag will be adopted.
