Las Vegas Summer League thread

Forrest averaging 15/7/7 over 3 games in Vegas. He has been so consistent
I don't understand why the Jazz didn't sign Forrest to a regular NBA contract and ditch Oni. I think Forrest has shown more NBA talent than Oni has ever done. It was nice to see Hughes play better and Doka just was great. Brantley is very frustrating for sure but he had his moments. The one thing keeping Forrest from playing minutes in the NBA is his inconsistent Jump shot/3pt. He is a very good passer and rebounder for his position.

Because by doing so they get a good player whose salary doesn't count against the salary cap, earn less and saves a roster spot. If you can get NBA caliber players on two-ways, you do it. Sucks for the player but it's good for the team ( specially one in luxury tax hell). I expect the team to cut one more player with partially guaranteed money for those same reasons and bring a project on a two way.

I'm weirdly invested in this summer league team. I don't remember ever caring how the team did. I want that trophy!
I feel the same way, and it’s puzzling, as our rookie isn’t playing and the guys on the team that are on the jazz are just MEH to me. And I’m not sure any will get any kind of real run in the rotation.

That might be part of it though. In the past I might pay attention to summer league for an individual player. This year we don't have any regular rotation players playing. Most likely I'm paying attention because they are winning and kind of dominating defensively. I don't remember if we've ever had a summer league team that won?

As of right now, highly doubt this Jazz team would play for the championship, even though they ended up undefeated. There are 5 other teams that are also undefeated with better numbers. As of now, Jazz rank 5th in the undefeated group. Top two will play for the championship.

The Celts and 76ers play today so that takes one of them out. With one more game to play who knows?

NBA with its big market bias again… this is our shot at a title… despicable
