According to Bill Oram, we have 7.5 million dollars left before the cap, easily enough to get Tinsley/Carroll

I calculate about 4.75. Not sure where the full discrepancy comes. I bet part of it is his not doing 120% of rookie scale.

I like Carroll, but unless he takes a minimum deal I think he's gone. I would keep him for the minimum, though. After that, I think you roll with the crappy bench you just sold your soul for and try to find a young D-League diamond in the rough to fill the rest of the roster spots. You maybe find a Wes Matthews/Jeremy Lin type guy, but if not you can cut them to free up the spot. If they're a keeper for depth down the road, you buy-out or cut Marvin Williams and use his spot. It's not like that will be the difference for the team moving forward.

Why Tinsley. I don't get it. He's horrible.

We need a 3rd PG, and we don't exactly have a lot of money. Tinsley has shown to go through weeks of DNPs only to be propelled into the starting lineup-- and he jumps right in without an afterthought. Great for team chemistry
