It's not clear to me whether NBA "reporters" (term used very loosely) just make this shiite up for clicks or are actually reporting something they've heard that someone else heard some shiite someone pulled out of their backside. This thread is evidence that someone is paying attention to this shiite, which is, I suppose, why this shiite exists in the first place.

Why Austin Ainge would trade Lauri for Paul George
Yeah i do understand that Jazz have to decide some point what to do with Lauri because he doesn't fit Jazz timeline but still lets get real in here.
If VJ Egdecombe is not included this trade it won't happen.
Also don't forget that 76ers are already paying big bucks for Embiid who's injured most of the season per year so does 76ers have even cap space for Lauri's contract and salary.

Once teams draft a player the fanbase and coaching staff get attached quick. They are not moving VJ anytime soon.
You might find your life improved, if you were to take a media literacy class. You'd have to apply yourself, though.
That's exactly what i meant.
VJ basically is only quality prospect what 76ers have and who Jazz would want in a trade so that's why trading Lauri for Paul George will not happen.
Only way getting Lauri makes sense for the Sixers is if they have the gift of foresight and can see that Embiid will be fully healthy for a playoff run.
