Leftist attacks Conservative on UC Berkeley Campus

LMAO

This forum's favorite guy is like, ya I hang around the KKK. They are really good people.

Nothing but crickets.

I say things like the media is biased. Socialism sucks, liberals are dumb, and I get the labels, outrage, and vitriol.

****ing hilarious. You all must be in shock. Not sure what to do now.

Uh, no.

People who identify themselves on this forum as far-anything, and then proceed to prove it every chance they get, are called out. Thriller, for example, gets just as much **** for his hard line, left-wing stance as you do for your hard line, right-wing stance. You aren't right, dude; it's just that the truth is somewhere in the middle, and you have such deep distaste for the idea of moving anywhere left of where you stand that you can't handle it. You are just as bad as the far-left types, though, demanding that the entire world somehow line up on one side or the other and commence spitting at each other. It's dogmatic as hell. How can you not see that?

And Fish has more than proved himself to be a good-hearted, level-headed guy around here. If he chooses to use his best judgment in deciding whether or not a person we know absolutely nothing about-- beyond that single post he made describing one night where his friend acted in a disappointing way-- that's his prerogative. Most of us can respect him for being moderate, and deciding to treat even those who speak/act despicably with some dignity, if he believes they have earned it. I, for one, would give you the same respect if you described a similar personal situation/experience.

Edit: You know, and one more thing... How is anybody following an extremist view going to be convinced to alter their beliefs and behaviors, if not by people who show that compromise is possible? You're not persuading anybody around here by spewing vitriol. People like Fish, who can accept that others have faults, yet believe they are capable of change, are far more likely to succeed at influencing our polarized society in a positive way than anyone at either end of this insane black-or-white ideology being shoved down our throats.

The problem with you argument is Im not far right. Neither are most Trump supporters. Its the far left that has emerged to the forefront and thats what I rag on. So otherwise I would agree with your opinions.

If I am center right and the opposition I speak of is far left, then it may appear Im far right if the far left is mistakenly viewed as center left or moderate. Which imo is 100% the case going on here.

If the real far right were to emerge and have as much relevance and coverage as the far left gets today, then I would be ragging on them just as much or more., and have just as much disdain for them.

Im sorry, but I dont see Fox News putting KKK members on the tube and normalizing them. The left main stream media not only give far leftism a platform, but they actively push it, while simultaneously misrepresenting conservatives.

How can you not see that?

Thanks man.

See what, the liberal media's agenda? What makes you think I don't? CNN is as bad as Fox News, just much better at delivering its propaganda in a way that doesn't insult the intelligence of anyone with higher than a 5th-grade education. There you go.

And look-- seriously, if you really do consider yourself to be centrist/moderate, then cool. But you might consider balancing your attacks a smidge, because you pretty consistently go after anyone left of you, moderate or extreme, and conveniently say nothing critical about anyone or anything on the conservative spectrum. I'm happy to concede this is a misperception, if you believe I am mistaken and have a compelling argument.

You seem like a reasonable person. I dont have anything to argue with you about.

And I get why you say that. But I never will
He is kind, thoughtful, generous, fun loving, positive, happy, reliable, trustworthy, loyal and there is no one I would rather hang out with. I think everyone has bad qualities and good qualities. When I put them on the scale for this particular person the good far outweigh the bad. For me anyway.

I also usually weigh how a person treats me and other people in their life as carrying much more weight than how they generalize people that they don't come into contact with.

I don't like it and it makes him not perfect for sure.

I also think they see what they are saying as harmless and victimless. They actually don't do anything to minorites that has any effect on them.

Like I said though, I totally get why you think I should part ways as you don't understand our bond and our relationship and would never be able to. The **** we been through together....... Man oh man. I might be dead if not for him. He has been there for me and helped me and saved me so many times and I have for him as well. He has brought so much joy to my life. I hope we continue to get together until the day we die.

I totally get it. Life is complicated and people are not sound bites. People have all kinds of different facets, and really none of us are the same person in every scenario. We are different around our family, our friends, co-workers, hell even around different members of our family, and of course, online. And then we are who we are when no one is around. That's a person no one really see but us. I've had some friends similar to what you describe, not necessarily with race and women like that, but ideas and such I found objectionable. I've also had some "friends" who turned out to be hard-core racists. I cut them out at that point. But I'm lucky that none of my closer friends ever had that proclivity, as I don't know what I'd do in that exact circumstance. But my gut tells me I'd cut things off. That's just so unsettling. At the core of racism and sexism, imo, is a general disregard for or devaluing of human life. That's something I have a hard time with and just refuse to be around myself.

I hope you never have reason to regret the relationship fish. And I hope you can continue having this person in your life as long as you want or need to. We all need a few friends like that. And I'm a little jealous that I don't have any friends that close really. I hope it continues to work for you.

I also want to say that I will always hold the president of the United States of America to a higher standard than friends I grew up with in Kearns Utah.

Thank you. He holds an obviously special place in my heart. I will forgive and have leniency more for those dearest to me. There is certainly bias on my part that I'm not proud of but that I definitely acknowledge.

Trump is a racist(never said anything racist)

Trump was censured for not renting to black people. Trump took out a full-page ad insisting on the convictions of the Central Park Five, and continued to insist on their guilt even after they were exonerated by DNA evidence. Trump campaigned on calling Mexicans rapists, and has referred to calling the illegal immigrants "diseased". If you don't hear the racism in those comments/actions, then I don't know what you would consider to be evidence of racism in the modern political world.

Friend who who says the worst racist things = Great human being

I would probably not be friends with fishonjazz's friend, but I have not lived fishonjazz's life. I think he underestimates how poisonous these biases can be even when they come out subtly.

In your opinion, who on the left is the equivalent of the KKK on the right?
