His defense is better than average and adding him adds length, shooting and athleticism. What isn't to like?

we would lose: Harris / Jefferson / Miles or Howard (earning $$$)
gain: Rondo / Batum / AK (swapping CJ/Josh, as Burks will be 1st wing up) / Memo (4th big, as Kanter is playing 20+)
so why would you get **** at that??

we see how much better we are w/ a pass 1st PG...
Harris (hoping he plays to self), Jefferson (solid big), & potentially 2 #1s (if either are required) as assets to trade for Rondo.
BOS still get young players (under 29) & can compete w/ DH-RA-PP-KG-AJ under Doc's coaching.

He's a long-perimeter defender, who can knock down 3s, & can body up bigger SF (which Hayward can't).

Yea, I think heard the same thing. It also talked about Batum having a Michael Jordan type offensive game. Man, I really like unsubstantiated articles because no one can dispute them.

He's not great, definitely fails badly at the various +/- metrics. My thinking is more to make Portland suffer because Allen would not like being bullied, and would match nearly anything.

If we can get out of Al's contract (last yr 15), I would love to throw money at Batum.
Depending on if they want to re-sign Wallace, then POR needs to figure out their PG & C needs over Batum.

My ideal summer would be:
Trade for Rondo (DH/AJ/+), clears 15M (which BOS can absorb)
Sign Batum (if needed, a front-loaded contract as they need a PG/C)
Resign either CJ or Howad (cheaper one stays)
Sign AK (no more than 4M)
Find a 4th big (Memo??)

Roster:
Rondo / Watson / ??
Hayward / Burks / Bell
Batum / CJ or Howard
Millsap / AK / Evans?
Favors / Kanter

we got length starting: Rondo/Hayward/Batum
outside shooters starting: Hayward/Batum
solid frontcourt rotation: Millsap/Favors/Kanter/AK
solid bench: Burks (our spark ala Harden/Manu?), Kanter (eventually displacing Millsap) AK playing more PF, CJ/Howard (same fill-in), Watson (the bulldog), Evans (need that early-oop)

Isn't their owner trying to sell the team now? I read an article that compared him to a kid who has gotten tired of his toy.
