First of all, we don't need to trade Burks.

Second, let's give the guy a chance to get healthy. The upside and promise he has shown is through the roof if he can get healthy and find his role on the Jazz. He's definitely 6th man of the year material, with Jamal Crawford upside. Let's just be patient and wait until he gets healthy to see if we think we should trade him.

It'd be foolish to trade Burks, who's contract is an obvious bargain under current market conditions, to clear space to pay someone market-value...

thats even worse than robbing peter to pay paul. It's the opposite of snowballing assets.

It's extremely unlikely they can extract equal value for him anyways. Teams will be looking to poach Jazz players knowing there's too much talent to pay long-term here.
