We are a small market team like the Spurs. So why are they successful and we are not. I think it starts with the top and then trickles down. KOC was our GM a few years back where he drafted Ryan Humphrie over Tayshaun Prince, Carlos Boozer, Scola. Or 2004 where he drafted Kirk Snyder and Kris Humphries over, Al Jefferson (15), Josh Smith (17), JR Smith (18), Jameer Nelson (20), Tony Allen (25), Anderson Varejao (31). What did we do with the guy?? Well despite being known for being clueless in the world of basketball, we promoted him to VP of basketball operations. Because he knew the game so well and proved to us that he was the worst, we decided to keep him for the long haul. Thats what G. Miller does. Those are the decisions that he makes. His father would have had a stroke if he was still alive. L.H. Miller was a true warrior, wanting to win. His son is an idiod and guiding our team to a shadow we will never come out of. We will not be a contender under our current owner or VP of basketball operations. PERIOD

If LHM was a warrior and would do anything to win then why didn't he find the final piece to get a chip with nearly two decades having the best duo in pro sports?

Fact is, he cared more about making money off the team than winning it all.

With trading Al Jefferson, we lost our only chance ever getting a chip. They poisoned our future, with this bonheaded youth movement.

Imagine had we been able to draft a "Tim Duncan" the year we really sucked and ended up with a lottery pick. SA tanked in precisely the right year after the Robinson injury. Instead, we have to trade back up to be in position to get Deron. And the next time we get a top-3 pick, it comes in one of the WEAKEST drafts in history and we end up with The Matador.

There's no doubt SA is the best franchise in the NBA in terms of drafting. But rather than get so down on KOC, let's remember he rebuilt the team quickly after losing Stockton/Malone and we got to the WC Finals. How long did it take for Boston, Chicago and even LA to rebuild after losing their stars?

As for Humphries/Snyder, go back and look at the draft grades. Utah was given A's by every single basketball "expert." I'm not saying KOC is perfect. But if you want to slam him for bad choices, also give him credit for trading Deron for Favors and picks and for creating the financial flexibility Utah has right now by not taking back bad contracts for other players.

And Gameface is correct; Larry H.'s goal was to always operate in the black. He said it MANY times in interviews. Also remember it was Larry H. who reportedly vetoed an AK trade a couple of times.
