What's new

like a deer in headlights

Yeah, the guy on Philly who is allowed to make as many mistakes as he wants? And is considered a generational talent, and is 22 years old (turning 23 this year).

Murray, Hield, and others have shown great flashes already. Last year, Zingy, Booker, Towns and others showed more than just flashes. The list goes on and on. Exum has shown basically nothing other than a great first step once every 10 games.

Devin Booker has regressed in a lot of people's eyes and he is another player who is allowed to play through mistakes and given the reigns without much pressure. His shooting % are only slightly better than Exum's.

Still waiting on all these skills. Lemme guess, he can play really good defense...and???

He has a strong basketball IQ
He gets into the paint very well for a player his size
His handle is good for a player his size
He has shown an aptitude for cutting off ball to the basket
He has defensive intangibles
He has shown passing vision on drives

Plenty of skills, they are not fully developed and he needs more time on ball to fail. The problem is the team has advanced past him and it's increasingly difficult for that development time to happen. Emmanuel Mudiay is given these chances and he has mostly sucked, because he is learning, but he has started showing development recently. These things just take time.

This is the list you're going with?

Listen, things do take time. I can acknowledge that. But that said, I think you know I don't mince words. So let me just say that while I generally dislike Computer as a poster on this site, he is spot ****ing on here about Exum.

They do?

What rookie is "lighting it up" right now?

Lmao.

Ok, I'll play along. You said these kids OFTEN step in and light it up right away. You named one player. Name some more. After that, try and name all the players who had several years to develop in college, yet came into the NBA and struggled to fit in.

Jimmer Fredette looked like a total stud in college, to the degree he was named player of the year, yet couldn't find a place in the NBA. How about Trey Burke?

You want to compare how high school players and college players look against far inferior competition to how Dante looks in the NBA?

Yeah, you and the others who have given up on Dante definitely have completely unrealistic ideas of development for a player in Dante's position, coming back from a serious injury.
