I think it is because of bad habits and the current culture. They lost their defensive enforcers and defensive identity and replaced them with terrible defenders.

He will never become a good defender. It's just that you don't lose out on a player like Lillard. He can punish mismatches better than anyone on our roster and our offense creates mismatches.

I'm not sure they can. A top 5 post defender who can score 20 a night, a solid starter, a top 5 draft pick from two years ago who hasn't flamed out, but has been hurt and 20 million in cap space.

That is quite the haul for PDX. And Lillard has warts. Not as many as Cousins, but he has warts that are similar to Cousins but to a lesser degree.

I'm not sure PDX gets a better deal than that. And that deal is a whole lot better than what Sac got for a better player.
 
That deal is a lot better than what we got for Deron, better than what Denver got for Carmello, better than what OKC got for Harden. Is there a star that was traded recently that got a better haul than that?
