Little doubt now ...this is Exum's team

5 1/2 months after his season ending surgery.The Jazz have Neto , Burke , and now Shelvin Mack as PG's keeping his seat warm for him for next year when he comes back.I think Jazz last 29 games will be it for Trey Burke leaving Neto and Mack.
Jazz doctors and trainers must be pretty pleased with how Exum's rehab is going to not overspend on a Teague,or Hill or Lawson or a Beverly.
Their can be no doubt now the Jazz team thinks they can be the top defensive team with Exum guarding all the great PG's in the league at the point of attack and that he can push the pace up and down the court better than anyone else with the ball in their hands.
Til then Jazz will probably make the playoffs but will have a hard time surviving the 1st round.

Not sure I'd go THAT far. It just means they didn't want to give up a major asset for a PG that only had 1 1/2 years on a contract. Jazz, for example, could trade Burke and their draft pick to move up and get a PG prospect. They could make a run for Conley. Or they could still deal for Teague. Atlanta is making a final gasp by not trading Horford. If he leaves, the Hawks could then decide to deal Teague.

I think that's been obvious for a while. He must have been doing some decent stuff in practice for them to hitch their wagon to him given how his rookie season went.

If he plays even remotely like that summer league game it could totally change the teams goals next season. In fact he'll probably want to otherwise he'll feel some pressure pretty quickly

I thought I read Exum was alot more impressive in the practices than in the games where he was under a tighter leash.In games,he was really restricted on offense and on defense it was like he was unleashed to attack,than have PG's allowed to do what they wanted.

He toughened up over the summer and was more aggressive and feeling it.I think the Jazz are *hooked*to what they've see when Dante is feeling it.

There was never any doubt that he would be given every opportunity to be our PG of the future after we drafted him, which I have zero problem with. I believe he is a high character player with the potential to be elite defensively, have great passing/court vision, & good to great slashing ability (depending on his confidence/aggressiveness).

The only thing that I have a problem with is betting our ability to retain Hayward on Exum returning at 100% next season & helping this team make it out of the 2nd round of the playoffs. I'm not saying that we should have overpaid to acquire a PG at the deadline or should do so in the summer, just that it's a risk. Either way, I'm still extremely confident in Exum's long-term potential (assuming there are no long-term ramifications from his injury).

The things he did will translate to the NBA. Using his length and speed assisting his teammates and getting to the ft line because he was aggressive, and he can become a JKid level shooter and improve like he did.

Wouldn't say it's "his team" but the organization is certainly all-in on him as our PG of the future.

If he meets his potential, and I fully believe he will, then this will be his team.

Is it just me or does this anyone else not really like this idea. I could see Exum forming a tight bond with Kobe, then Kobe using that friendship to lure him to the Lakers one day. Sorry, I just have a general distrust for Lakers players...

I think our players are probably better friends with other players from other teams than anybody suspects.
