Locke looks at Alec Burks' stats (if you're bored)

I believe next year's starting lineup will look something like this:

Eric Maynor
James Harden
Gordon Hayward
Paul Millsap
Derrick Favors

Kendrick Perkins is the sixth man (Jefferson to Thunder).

Just a hunch.

Also, as another part of the deal, Russell Westbrook ends up in Boston and Rondo in Oklahoma. A total of four teams will be in the deal.

Ray Allen to OKC as well.

Also, also... Kanter's improvement in the offseason allows him to play the power forward position and Evans flourishes off the bench as the backup Small Forward.

Alec Burks plays well enough next season to be in the talks of league's most improved players.

NBA2k13 GM of the year ^

I count Burks amongst the players that would benefit most from an Al trade... and subsequent floor spacing + extra commitment to transition buckets.

Ok, NBA 2K13 GM of the Year...I'll bite...

For the Jazz to get Maynor, Harden, and Perkins and for Westbrook to Boston for Rondo...what do the Jazz give besides Jefferson to the Thunder?

...and, most importantly, why does the 2nd best team in the West blow itself up??

If we're really looking for comparisons, Burks reminds me of a young Derek Anderson. His shot is still streaky but the biggest aspect of his game he needs to improve (aside from his defense which can be said for virtually all rookies) is simply developing the feel for knowing when to attack, when to use his midrange game and when to take it all the way, and when not to force the issue. That's something that may or may-not come to him, but it's something that can only come with time and not instantaneously over an offseason.

Now that he's no longer a rookie, hopefully his ability to take it strong to the rim will benefit the Jazz even more because there were alot of times Burks drew contact, but didn't go to the FT line simply because he was a rookie (see Game 4 vs Spurs).

As much as i like Burks, i dont see him as a good fit for us. He may seem like the more talented and fancy guy but indeed Leonard is a better team player than him and could be a better fit with Hayward

When I see Burks I see immense ability. Decent instincts. Yet mediocre iq. Or maybe I just feel he seemed a bit chuckerish to me. I still have high hopes. Year two is HUGE. Guards usually develop faster than bigs.

Yeah, I hope he's not learning chucking form CJ because he's been doing that a lot recently.
