I've been reading some Toronto Raptors fan forums and they seem to be of the opinion that the Raptors will blow it up in the summer and Lowry will be gone in the summer and a lot of them are willing to trade him. This trade was proposed in the RealGM forums and a lot of neutral fans think the value is great for both teams when considering what they will be trying to do:

Utah gets Kyle Lowry, Patrick Patterson
Torotonto gets #12, Trey Burke, GS 2017 pick, non-guaranteed contracts

Lowry fell off a cliff in the second part of the season, but he still will be a massive upgrade at the position for us. A lot of people think his fall in efficiency came from overuse and overloading him for too long. Do you like that trade and would you do it? It will give us a quality point to play starter minutes either behind Exum or ahead of him. With us wanting to give Exum serious minutes, we probably won't overload Lowry and get better minutes from him than what he's been giving the Raptors last several months.

Thoughts?

not a fan of Lowry - i don't know that he's a locker room fit is he? maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

I think I wouldn't mind it, would Patterson and Booker be a bit redundant? Maybe look into moving one of them later/in the same deal.

Most probably we will need to trade Booker's contract for salary matching purposes.

So your trading 2 firsts, Burke, Booker and other non-guaranteed contracts for Lowry and Patterson. One of those picks being a lottery pick from this year? I think I'd have to pass, that's a ton to spend for a guy that doesn't fit the profile of the rest of the team. I like Lowry I just won't want the Jazz to spend that much. Hell I'm not sure he's worth the #12 pick let alone all that other stuff you are trading him for. I know virtually nothing about Patrick Patterson. But find it hard to believe he's worth Booker, Trey, and a future 1st round pick.

Lowry is an all-star PG on a good contract. I think he's well worth #12 and a future pick. Patterson is a great stretch 4, I'd say he's probably worth a late first, early second on his own.

This is crazy talk. An all-star PG isn't worth the #12 pick in a mediocre draft?

An all-star in the East. He doesn't sniff the all star team in the west. Is Patterson worth a late first, early second and Booker plus probably other players and Burke? I'm not even sure he's a better player for this team than Booker. I like Lowry, I don't think he fits this team and 2 first for a guy like him still seems steep to me. Especially if the team is blowing it up anyway.

All-star is an overrated term. The NBA all-star selection process is a complete farce. And he plays in the East, how many decent PG's are there to compete with for that spot? Out west he doesn't even get a mention.
