Luol Deng

Any interest in possibly doing what the Nets did, take the bad contract and a young asset (Randle or Nance) for say Diaw and Burks...I prefer getting playing time for Mitchell above all else...Randle or Nance would push Favors, while giving depth, who knows maybe Bolomboy is ready for minutes.

No way. That contract would kill us. If it was a 1 year deal then no problem but not 3. We need our cap space free. We need to acquire or develop 2 all stars in the next 3 years to put around Rudy. We can't do that if we are paying bad long-term contracts.

Would require an unprotected first and Larry Nance Jr. just to start talks.

If I'm the Lakers and I'm putting everything on Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and cap space, I scramble to the phone on that.

Randle is nowhere close enough to take on that horrific contract. Ingram is probably about right of a price, but then again... I highly doubt they would do it, so it's a moot point.

More importantly, if you take Randle w/ Deng, then you have 3 RFAs to pay in 2018 FA while paying Luol Deng.

The Lakers can't trade a pick until 2020 (maybe 2019), so if you have any faith they will get Paul George or Lebron, that would be an awful deal.

The Jazz won't have much cap space going forward once Hood gets extended/matched, so unless the Jazz want to use it this offseason it likely is a wasted asset.

I'm shooting from the hip on my figures, though.

Jesus. Mother-**** that franchise.

Is Jordan Clarkson any good? Is my distaste for Julius Randle justified?

Yeah... probably a dead-end here. Hard to sign off on players that won't likely be worth their offer sheets.

No one is good enough to take Luol Deng's contract besides Brandon Ingram, and even that would make me pause.

This is the type scenario we need to investigate, but I only see it being worth it to us if Ingram is in the deal.

Honestly, I might consider trading Hood and taking back Deng if it meant getting Ingram. A future of Rubio, Exum, Mitchell, Ingram, Bradley and Gobert could be special. Plus a better 2018 pick.
