Lyles is the pick at 12

According to David Locke's interview on 1280 (https://weareutahjazz.com/lockedonjazz/ ... Scotty & Hans), the Jazz were not seriously considering Devin Booker. At 12, they had zeroed in on Turner and Lyles by draft time. Indiana had come to the same conclusion reportedly. The decision at 12 was whether to take Lyles or trade the pick.

It's not clear if the Jazz would have preferred Turner had they won the coin flip.

I think the Carlos Boozer comparisons are legitimate. His size, strength, and frame (7'4 wingspan) are a great start. When I watched him at UK, it was the little things that always stood out. Often times more than Towns and Stein. He out hustled UK's other big men, set great screens, and had elite versatility. He can knock down open 3's, pass with good court vision, pull up from mid range, and attack the basket better than most. His jump shot needs work, but his form is surprisingly smooth.

I'm a huge pessimist when it comes to the NBA Draft, and have been known around my family to hate a Jazz draft pick. Lyles is absolutely an exception. I think this is a slam dunk, and he'll be a staple with the Jazz for a long time.

i just had a dejavu. Carlos boozer was the biggest nightmare ever happened to jazz. Noone wants him back, or anyone who looks like him

I'd take prime Carlos Boozer off the bench, no question. The dude could kind of ball.

Hell, I would take him as a starter..... When he was in his prime 80% of teams probably would. He was pretty damn good
