Lyles

Lyles needs to get stronger and smarter. But most importantly he needs to be a consistent 3 point shooter. It is the part of his game that opens everything else up.

Yup, it's all about that three point shot imo

He throws the ball away on poor passing. If is 3 point shot isn't on, what's he even good for?

I loved him his rookie season but that fire went out.

It's not just 3 point shots he can't make. He shoots 43% on 2-point shots for the season.

His numbers have been in a general decline all season, but his stats for the month of February are awful. He has shot 28% overall, 26% from deep, and in 96 minutes of play has 4 assists, 4 turnovers, 0 steals, 0 blocks and 12 fouls.

Sure, and I'm down... if he can hit a shot and also not hoist them up way too early in the shot clock.

That was always an insult to Favors, though. Favors has been injured, but when he was at his best, he was light years better than Trey has ever been.

Now, if you can find a PF to stretch the floor who can also play defense, then great. However, floor spacing from the 4 doesn't negate a borderline all star who has a good midrange game but not quite out to the 3. Imagine where Utah would be right now if we had the old Favors all year. I think we are neck and neck with the spurs and a top 4-5 team in the NBA.

3 and D bigs are so rare they are almost mythical. I'm all about the PF of the future, especially since the D has been great even without Favors, BUT THEY HAVE TO MAKE THE ****ING SHOTS.

Lyles still has a nice upside but it is time to play for W's and not development. I think and I hope the rotation gets tighter and tighter as we get close to the playoffs. Lyles will likely not see much action the rest of the year unless we have an injury

Lmfao. So Lyles is the player we are giving up on this week? Sophomore slump

As I said with Dante earlier, I believe Lyles' defense is keeping him off of the floor. He really hasn't been even as good as Diaw, and since Diaw has been bad that means Lyles has been worse. Snyder seems to live with offense and bench for defense IMO. Lyles needs to improve defensively if he wants playing time.

It's not just a sophomore slump. That's lazy rhetoric.

He's been awful on defense, he hucks up bad shots when he gets the ball, he pumps and drives when he should just shoot, and he's not moving the ball. He's playing really bad basketball, and it is concerning.
