Remember when people were all "man, so glad we got Lyles and not Devin Booker"?
lol
As I said with Dante earlier, I believe Lyles' defense is keeping him off of the floor. He really hasn't been even as good as Diaw, and since Diaw has been bad that means Lyles has been worse. Snyder seems to live with offense and bench for defense IMO. Lyles needs to improve defensively if he wants playing time.

We should cut the rotation to 10 and then 9 players approaching the playoffs based on who is ready for the real stage. Right now Lyles is not. Exum is on upswing lately so we'll see about him.
7 Locks: Hill, Ingles, Hood, Hayward, JJ, Fav, Gobert
You could be right that Diaw is worse, but I don't think so Lyles is almost non existent on defense. But it is far better to send a message like this to a young guy that if he wants to play his defense has to improve. Since Exum has been back in the lineup his defense has been way better than before his break. That would be fine but just like Exum (Mack/Neto) the alternative (in this case Diaw) is actually worse on defense and has no upside. Lyles despite his shooting struggles is still shooting the three ball better than Diaw and whilst Diaw may pick up more assist, I would hardly say the offense flows when he is in the game. A lot Diaw assist are of a result to a cut the basket whilst Diaw post up, which isn't free flowing basketball.
It makes absolutely no sense to play Diaw when 1) he is not going to be here post this season and 2) he isn't contributing to the team winning anymore than Lyles was.
People should check Diaws advanced stats to see just how bad he has been this season. Bottom 10 for RPM, shocking wins shares, terrible offense/defense rating. You name it and he is sucking.
Member when he was the PF of the future, you know, cuz spacing?![]()
Some don't change based on small sample. Kid is 20 and has NBA skills plus size. Too early to reach conclusions. After next season perhaps.
I guess I just don't see glaring holes in the roster. We have a few needs but most of them can be solved by being healthy. So glad we remained under the salary floor while we're in a playoff chase and have glaring wholes in the roster.
*4th consecutive post*

Also we are not really a contender and none of the moves that have been suggested change that.
We have young players at those positions who can use experience. Right now Lyles isn't getting it but I have confidence that he will be back on the floor rather soon. Favors is getting better, Exum is rounding into shape. We are not getting past the 2nd round, we are unlikely to get past the 1st round. None of the options listed or available change that in the slightest. Getting these guys experience and having them improve is the best for this team going forward. Getting another washed up vet to accomplish the exact same end result is counter productive.back-up 1 and 4 has been a problem all year. Maybe Dante is rounding a corner and solidifying one of those spots. And it hasn't just been back-up 4 that's been the problem; due to Favors' limitations we've pretty much had PF problems all year. Yes, JJ has had some good moments, but that has definitely been a position of weakness.
AND LET ME RE-****ING-ITERATE: WE ARE BELOW THE GODDAMN SALARY FLOOR. WE AREN'T EVEN PAYING MINIMUM WAGE.

I don't give a flying **** what the salary of this team is.
LOLBased, then, on his rookie season and the continual disappointment of his Sophomore season? emmk.
That's ****ing ********. We have 8 out of 10 things needed to get passed the 1st round and put up a serious challenge in the 2nd. One of those 8 things is likely to be HOME COURT ADVANTAGE, for christ's sake. The missing ingredients are depth (again, at obvious spots) and experience. You can get depth and experience at the same time via the right acquisitions.
Blah blah blah
What other team assets do you think should be mismanaged?
