so are you gonna put kobe in your mt rushmore if he passes malone in scoring? yes, it's a long shot, but it can happen if kobe plays 2 more healthy seasons.
and i guess jason kidd is better than magic because jason kidd has more assists than magic.
russell was listed at 6ft 9. and that's barefoot. so in today's nba he can be listed at 6ft 11. same as dwight howard. just look at how 70+ year old russell holds his own against these 6ft 10-6ft 11 players. i included ben wallace because ben wallace was listed at 6ft 9, but most likely he was closer to 6ft 7. but he never had a problem playing the center position(unless he was playing shaq).
bottom line russell is tall and long enough to play in today's nba. his anticipation, quickness, quick jumping ability, and nastiness on defensive end will make him elite defender in any era.

If you think Kobe is going to pass Malone by playing 2 more healthy seasons, your the one that's completely delusional! He's already said this is going to be his last season, and even if it's not, he's not going to stay healthy enough or be good enough to play effectively to score that many points! And no, Kidd wouldn't pass Magic on my list simply because he was a pathetic outside shooter! Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn to save his neck! Nice playmaker, though! He could run my team any day of the week!

ok, so let's play a pretend game. pretend that kobe was healthy past 2 seasons and he just passed malone in points. would you put kobe in your mt rushmore then? yes or no?

....an emphatic, NO! Kobe is not one of the top 4 or 5 players to ever play the game, period! So, I'd put Oscar Robertson ahead of Kobe! So if I had 4 choices they would be Kareem, Magic, Jordan and Robertson!
but you always put karl because he is a 2nd all time scorer and with many records. double standard much?
if kobe tops malone in scoring(i know it's a long shot) then kobe would have the scoring edge and he would have 5 more rings.

....ok, if Kobe catches Malone in total points scored, I'll put him ahead of Malone! But he'll never be top 5 ball players of all time in my book! I reserve the right to dislike the guy.
