Making clear the Jazz trade up assets

Hayward, like all pending free agents, cannot be included in draft-day trades. And contrary to what people are piecing together on Twitter, he also can’t be involve in any Sign & Trade discussions that take place on Draft Day because it’s illegal for the Jazz or any other team to negotiate with Hayward until July 1, long after the draft has fully congealed.

The assets
Having said that, here’s what the Jazz DO have available to trade on June 26:
· #5
· #23
· #35
· Any of Utah’s own future picks
· 2017 unprotected 1st from GSW
· 2016 & 2017 2nd rounders from GSW
· 2018 2nd rounder from Den
· Draft rights to Raul Neto and Ante Tomic
· Favors
· Enes Kanter
· Alec Burks
· Trey Burke
· Rudy Gobert
· Jeremy Evans
· Murphy, Thomas and Clark, unless the rumored details of their 2014-15 contracts are wrong
· Cap space that can be used in verbal agreements to be officially consummated after the July moratorium. Maybe this helps understand what we can do or the assets we can do them with.

Clear, concise, understandable. Lays all possibilities out there in plain sight. Are you trying to give this forum a bad name? Seriously good job. Repped!

Good post. I had plans to do this to.

It shows just how loaded we are with assets and should not hesitate to attempt to move up in this draft. And there is no reason to be conservative either. In five years, probably half of those assets will be gone anyways. Either by trade, bad picks, players leaving in FA, etc...

Move up and grab Jabari. Let's not make this too difficult.

Hack, you have been leading the charge as far as trading whatever it takes for jabari.

And i agree...... but if we are going big and going high risk (giving away lots of assets) for high reward (a potential star player), then why not go as big as possible?
Lets go after wiggins

Good point here. At some point you have to do something with your assets.

We have yet to turn any of the assets we've been hearing about since Deron left into a substantial piece.

Now is the time.
