Malone disses Jordan

You know what we should do for the off-season? Have an all-time NBA darft. That would be great fun!!!

[/sarcasm]

I actually saw a video of when TNT did this. They had about 6 guys picking and they had a board of about 60 players (all retired) that they could choose from. There were some damn interesting choices and teams on there.

Just think of all the names and combos you could have on your team.

I believe it was an all-time draft from players who had played in at least 5 all-star games, including current players as well. Barkley had the first pick and took Allen Iverson.

Lol!

This just confirms to me that Malone really is thee biggest hardass in the entire league. He knows he was dissing the best player in the history of the game. He knows that this isn't going to win him any friends. He knows that MJ is going to take it personally and bitch about it. But Malone doesn't care. He does things on his own terms and doesn't give an F what others think.

I love it!!!

And it's so refreshing because the NBA today is just one big popstar party. Lebron spanking chalk, Dwight Howard doing a comedy routine, everyone dancing and goofing around, and high fives to top rival players.

The league needs to bring back guys like Bird and Malone. Authentic hard asses who aren't afraid of being chippy, ruffling some feathers, and who aren't concerned with being beloved by all.

Whenever we talk about all time greats it's funny how often folks leave off Dream. Maybe because when he fell apart he really fell apart. I think he spent some time with the Raptors or something. But for a long long time he was the best big in the entire league. The way he destroyed Ewing, Robinson, Shaq, etc is nothing short of impressive. In fact, of all the teams in the 90s that had the best shot of taking down MJ's bulls was Dream's Rockets. In fact, I bet they would have and it wouldn't have even been very close. Rockets in 5. No amount of Phil Jackson zen or MJ receiving calls would have prevented the nightmare they would have had with Dream.

If I could take any player #1 in an all time draft, the obvious answer is Magic. The dude never lost, could play 5 positions, the greatest pg ever, ALWAYS put the team first, and winning was his only agenda.

He had to pick Stock even though it should be Magic but Pippen is a joke He does not belong in the top list of anything NBA. Karl being Karl

.....Stockton has two unbreakable NBA records. He was at least in the top 3 for basketball brains and IQ. Why does he not belong? Oh, and he won about 70% of his games!

Magic was better. Could play all 5 positions. Averaged more assists per game than Stockton. 5 Championships, 3 NBA MVPs. Why is this is even a question. Stockton played 600 more games no wonder he has more assists and steals.

You can argue Stockton as a top 5 point guard, but not a top five any position player. This coming from a guy who rooted for Stock his entire career.

I agree. I think Joakim Noah and Roy Hibbert are as close to that as we're gonna see.
