Manny Harris

is a 6'5" combo guard who sprained an ankle in a predraft workout with the Nets. He averaged 18 ppg and about 5 assists his senior season at Michigan. His numbers with the Cavs 0 because of the ankle. The could be a guy KOC should keep an eye on. Perhaps another Wesley Matthews if he gets healthy and could play 3 positions potentially?

With Raja Bell, the Jazz met their goal of getting older.

With Manny Harris (and Jeremy Evans), another goal might as well be to get skinnier.

He's 170 pounds dripping wet.

Good at steals, assists, and overall FG%; not so swift on TOs and treys.

It would be good to have an upgrade offensively over (or in addition to) Othyus Jeffers (not that Sloan uses OJ even for D). Not 100% sure that Manny is the man for that.

He's cited as a scorer and acknowledged as a 31% shooter in the same article.

Right now they're going to have to bring some guys to camp to compete with Gaines, Jeffers and Evans. Other than the 3 point percentage and lack of weight, what the heck.

I am a huge Michigan fan. I watched Manny Harris a lot. He is a great College player but I don't see him as a NBA player. He is like a poor poor mans Adrian Dantley except he isn't strong like he was(which made Dantley so effective). He is a SF playing a PF position on Michigan almost (even though they don't really have set position on that team). He can't shoot from the outside and he has to have the ball in his hands to be effective. Which makes him a non factor in the Utah Jazz offense. We need players that play effective without the ball. He can't come off screens to shoot and he can't hit the spot up jumper and he isn't know for defense (not bad but not good). So Jeffers is actually a better option for us because he is just as athletic (way stronger) and he doesn't need the ball to be effective. His outside shot sucks but he fits the role better than other players.

Manny Harris is better off being on a team like the Warriors or Knicks. Playing in a system that is not as structured and he can be more creative with his passing and slashing ability. We don't utilize wing players who need the ball in there hands to be effective.

Stephen Graham is who I want.

Ooh--nice analysis. And good eye for Stephen Graham. He might be the wing equivalent of Jarron Collins: possibly the lesser known twin, but about as good (and maybe better).

Sloan would like that he's seasoned in the league, having wondered around the NBA for four years.

Both he and his brother Joey Graham played for the minimum last year.

Either Graham brother could help to fill the gap that losing Brewer and Matthews caused. It'd shore up the wing rotation, helping against Kobe and others.

Looks like there was competition, though, as of a week ago. Utah might have to offer more than the minimum to have a chance.

There are a lot of unsigned veterans that may become desperate. The question is do the Jazz sign them and pay more tax or get DLeaguers undrafted free agents for the minimum.
